Boring

Maple Story is a boring monstrosity lacking any creativity whatsoever. You have to be born to play it to get any fun out of it.

The graphics are cute and enjoyable. Enviroments are unique and very well done. Basically, you stand on elevated platforms of land with a scenery background. Characters were made in an anime style. You can choose a variety of hair styles and different clothing/armor to change your appearance.

The object of the games is… well I’m not sure. Roleplaying is to a minimum. Occasionally, you’re given a quest to collect x number of items for someone but thats about the jist of it. There are various platforming levels with little creatures all over them. You must press the "ctrl" button continuously as your character uses his attack. After an extremely long amount of time you will gain a level.

The community is okay. A lot of pre-teens and mid teenagers. Not very many adults. The game has a huge problem with hackers, however. It seems like every where you look there is a person using a hack to vacuum all the monsters into one corner.

Overall, this game really isn’t worth bothering with. There are a lot better free games out there.

The Lowdown :

Pirate king online. PIRATES! How could you do any wrong with them swashbuckling drunk buccaneers that jacked ships GTA style? Turns out theres a lot you can do a lot wrong.

Graphics 7/10: Not much to say. Not too bad, yet not too good. They could have put more into the background and character detail. Landscapes look boring and… boring.

Gameplay 6/10: This is what really dissapointed me. This game is another fresh from the East grindfest. Not much excitement in the quests. Most of the quests you either deliver goods from one NPC to another, or do the ever monotonous “Go outside and kill me about ___ of those _____’s.” Some of the quests tell you to find another NPC for work. Problem is, they just tell you the NPC’s general location, and thats it. They dont even tell you the coordinates for the monsters. Its best to keep the mainsite minimized, since coordinates of certain monsters are on there. It’s a crying shame since the game had a nice variety of skills and doodads. You have a choice of nice weapons to expert in, there are 4 types of kooky characters, you get a ship later on (Which you grind in, oh joy!), and the whole Pirate idea was a good idea.

Sound: 8/10 A nice assortment of “piratey” music. It was a little bugged last time but im sure they fixed it by now.

Overall 7/10: This game had so much potential. Pirates, ships, hairstyles. Really hope they improve this game with a big patch later on. Maybe a Pirate King Online II? Call this review biased, it’s alright with me. (Reviewed by Fieren)

WarRock rocks!

WarRock is a well-made FPS game. A few glitches make it sometimes frustrating, but since it is only a beta version, it will be superb when it is released fully.

There are three gametypes you can choose from when you play. Explosive Missions, Infantry Combat and Vehicle Combat.
Missions are where one team has to plant bombs in various areas and the other has to stop them. It is a small map.
Infantry Combat is a type where there are few vehicles on a medium to large map. It’s good to come to when you’ve gotten bored of missions because when you die, you will respawn in a 10 second interval.
Vehicle Combat’s maps are large, and, yep you guessed it, there are loads of vehicles, ranging from aeroplanes and helicopters to tanks and motorbikes.

Ever wanted a little more respect when you do things? WarRock has over 120 lvls you can upgrade to, and every lvl has a small shield, which sits next to your name. When you finish a game, you will receive experience, which is turned into percentage. Every time you reach 100%, you gain a lvl.

The guns aren’t all the same either. When you complete a game you will also receive Dinar (the in-game currency), and the better you played the more Dinar and exp you will get.

In conclusion, WarRock is a great game, with a few niggling glitches that should be ironed out when it launches its full version. Best of all, it’s free!

Mafia Legends

This is game is one of the best text based games i have ever played.
Basically you start out in the gangster world at a really low rank “Tramp” as you progress through the game your ranks go up and up.

You do a series of different things for example Crimes such as rob a bank and GTA.

You shoot other players for there casinos or just because you have a grudge against them.
