Business Tycoon Online

Business Tycoon Online is a massive multiplayer business simulation browser game. Players will act as an entrepreneur to wage economic war in Liberty City. Starting with a small shop, you will experiencing difficulties and challenges as you struggle to outwit and outwork the competition to rise as a prime market influencer.
Business Tycoon Online is the first title published by DovoGame in North America and Europe. The game requires no downloads, is playable in the browser and is accessible on almost any PC with an internet connection.
As an entrepreneur in training, you will work your way through various quests that teach the basics of the game while allowing you to train your Avatar and increase your stats in strategy, wisdom, and leadership. Think of these stats in a typical MMORPG as defense, mana, and attack power respectively, allowing you to specialize in protecting your image, acquiring resources faster, or growing the profits of your corporation.
As your wealth progresses, you will eventually be able to buy your way into a powerful guild where you can work to out maneuver and out sell your fellow shareholders to rise to the top. Will you use the power of your guild to topple the competition? Or perhaps even increase your influence as you run for political office? The choice is yours in Liberty City.. do you have the skill to acheive your dreams?

Mabinogi to Introduce New Alchemist Skills

Mabinogi to Introduce New Alchemist Skills

Mabinogi’s upcoming content update will bring an entirely new Alchemy skill set to the game and give players the opportunity to experience a new way to strengthen their attacks and defense.  The new skills, Life Drain, Water Cannon, Wind Blast, Ice Mine, Barrier Spikes, and Summon Golem can be learned by doing the Alchemy storyline.

The skill, Life Drain, allows players to steal their enemy’s life and replenish their own and is especially advantageous during battle. Water Cannon is more effective as an enemy deterrent when battling in close quarters.  Much like the Water Cannon except with wind, the Wind Blast helps a player knock down an opponent and gives them time to escape.

Unlike Water Cannon and Wind Blast, Ice Mine results from a new Alchemist skill and can be installed on the ground  like a booby-trap and will freeze any opponents that get close to it.

Barrier Spikes can be set up as temporary protective barriers against enemy attacks.  As the enemy attacks the barrier, it loses Durability and will disappear once Durability is depleted.  As long as the enemy doesn’t decide to go around the spikes or beat them down, it’s a good way to keep up a barrier and prevent harm.

Players who learn the Summon Golem skill can summon golems of different power levels depending on their individual skill rank.  The player who summoned the golem will be able to control it and inflict damage to their opponent.

True Fandom: How Far Can You Go? (a true story)

True Fandom: How Far Can You Go? (a true story)
By Kei Beneza (dividelife), Onrpg Journalist

It’s given that all gamers have their own way of praising their favorite games. Some do this through collectibles while others dwell in cosplay. Much like other gamers out there, the gamers in my country (The Philippines) also carry their own respect for the games they love. RF Online A.K.A Rising Force Online is one of- if not the most famous MMO’s here in the Philippines. People would cut classes, pay a gratuitous amount of money, or even fight for it if possible. I for one have become addicted to this game. I remember joining tournaments, visiting other guild dojos, and doing various activities to further enhance my competitive gameplay.

There is no end to what a gamer can do when they give their oath of loyalty to a certain game, but up to what extreme will these players go to? How far can they go for the game that they’ve been playing for years?

The Mski.immortals

Mski.immortals: one of the most feared hardcore guilds in our RF Online Server. Those who don’t know the name are either noobie gamers or not from this country. The Mski.immortals has won countless trophies and is definitely a force to be reckoned with. I talked to one of the members of this famous guild, Rodelio Joveres — who is also known as Milie, a member of the Bellato Federation in the battlefields of Novus.

One of the most famous events in RF Online is the City Under Siege tournament (CUS), a deadly 10 on 10 competition where guilds gather from all over the country to smash and trash everyone who gets in their way. The CUS is always fun to watch as these individuals show their respective talents in a match where both teamwork and individual skills matter. Hearing them yell out their battle cry in the midst of the competition is priceless. For the Mski.immortals, this was a battle of pride, for the only thing they wanted was to uphold their glory over the other guilds.

BREAKING NEWS: The Storm “Ondoy” has struck the Philippines

It was when super storm Ketsana (local name “Ondoy”) struck the Philippines, killing hundreds of people. Houses were pulled down; leaving people at the mercy of the storm You can probably imagine how horrific this scene was for the Philippines, especially for the Mski.immortals since the hosts of the CUS didn’t deem life-threatening floods as an excuse to cancel the tournament.

Yes, CUS was still up and running and the guild was given until twelve o’ clock midnight to show up. The storm raged further, claiming more and more victims as people rushed for shelter. Rodel’s story got me laughing as he explained in full detail how his group mates swam the raging flood just to show up in time. Since there wasn’t any form of transportation available they had to hook themselves on to passing vehicles in order to move faster. The flood was actually the least of their worries as the rain bashed on with no mercy. Upon reaching their destination, the guild was actually surprised that they made it shortly before the tournament started. Mski.Immortals was ready to KICK SOME AXE.

Rodel: Some of the players were already playing in their boxers because they were too damn soaked.

Onrpg: Did it even bother you that some of you guys were facing other guilds on your boxers?

Rodel: I don’t think so.

Onrpg: So who were the ones who actually swam?

Rodel: Calamus, wAyAb, and HaJiMe.

Onrpg: Damn! So it must have been really hard for them

Rodel: Actually, the hard part was that they even smoked their soaked cigarettes upon getting there!

How far can you go for the game you love? Is it fandom that actually drives people to do these things? Others do it by simply gathering collectibles for me Mski.Immortals have proved more than that. You don’t really have to buy everything related to the game in order to prove that you’re a big fan; you just have to swim through floods to get to a tournament. Props to these guys for their efforts didn’t really end in vain. After all was said and done, Mski.Immortals emerged victorious (YEP! They won!). I honestly don’t think anyone can pull out their A-game after such an ordeal, but I guess these guys proved me wrong.

I got into a conversation with a friend shortly after talking to Rodel. We talked about fandom, specifically what a real gamer is. There have been various cosplayers and collectors, purposely collecting ingame memorabilia just to prove that they’re the biggest fan of all.

RF Online Fandom

How Far Would You Go?

“Let’s say there’s a BIG RF Online event, and all RF fans are prompted to join. During the cosplay event, some guy dressed up as a perfect Bellato. Yeah, his armor is perfect, complete with metallic parts that make him look exactly like a bellato warrior. Now who do you think is the true gamer? The one who pulled off the biggest Bellato cosplay in the face of the earth or the guy who stayed at home just to play the game while the others party in the event?”

Yes, that made a lot of sense didn’t it? Some gamers buy all the collectibles in world while dubbing themselves are the game’s biggest fans, but these guys (Mski.Immortals) have shown us what most gamers have overlooked— “A gamer’s love for the game itself”.

Kuso Party

Kuso Party is a free-to-play one of a kind game that is packed with exciting mini games and challenges. Community is the greatest feature! Players are able to communicate with each other, visit their creatively designed homes, and take their relationship to another level. Kuso Party is a fun and easy game for all levels of gamers to enjoy.
Players are able to create party rooms and go head to head vs other players testing their skill at all the random mini games while at the same time using unique items to attack or defend against others trying to break your concentration.

To gather vine goes she.
When her I do not see,
One day seems longer than months three.

To gather reed goes she.
When her I do not see,
One day seems long as seasons three.

To gather herbs goes she.
When her I do not see,
One day seems longer than years three.

Eudemons - Happy Valentine

It has become proverbial that a short absence from the lover seems too long, and even longer the more she is dwelt upon. So don’t leave your lover for a long time, you don’t want him/her feeling upset or worrying about you. Besides, you need to do something for the one you adore, either stand trial and confess your love, or do something to show it.

Hereby, Eudemons Online has prepared several events for the upcoming Valentine’s Day. At 8:30 – 11:00 and 20:30 – 23:00, between Feb. 10 and Feb. 14th , enjoy your romantic time with the one you adore most! You can find 7 fairies in Cronus for their Valentine Packs, set off Fireworks on the shores of the Moon River with your lover, spend a few minutes to make and hang a Heart Locket to gain a Lover Locket and Match Key, team up with your beloved and take the tests from the 5 Star Officers: Luck Star, Wisdom Star, Valor Star, Love Star and Vigor Star! Have fun.

Dark Legacy Review: The Game Misses By A Mile

Dark Legacy Review: The Game Misses By A Mile
By Vincent Haoson (Vincenthaoson), OnRPG Journalist

Dark Legacy is a game that messes with you from the start. According to the story you wake up your village which has been ransacked by a marauding band of thieves, you get up from bed only to see that your son was beheaded. You take up the sword that saved your life and start off in your adventures as a person who is being eaten up by revenge.

Storyline? What Storyline

This gruesome welcome is the only thing that resembles a decent storyline in the whole game. Furthermore, the story does not really tie-in to the game’s races. Humans may experience what happened in the introduction but if you look at the description of the other races this is very unlikely to happen to them.

Balance Is Thrown Out The Window

Dark Legacy also has balance issues. It appears that the race bonuses have not been thought as there are no disadvantages per race. Furthermore, some races have similar bonuses. The lack of balance in the racial bonuses really warps the overall gameplay. There is also a “super” race which receives more than the standard race bonus. The presence of this “super” race in the game makes the other races seem weak and therefore makes the game redundant because most players would use the same race for their character.

Gameplay

Dark Legacy’s gameplay is action point based. Almost all actions in the game are hooked to the amount of AP you have. The gameplay for Dark Legacy is nothing special; it uses the same engine as a lot of browser based games.

Dark Legacy

Chatting System

Though there is one thing that makes the game stand out. Dark Legacy has a chat box system where you can communicate with fellow players who are online as well. Though this system is not new to browser games, only a few use this technology. The chat box does balance out some of the games balance however this is not enough to encourage players to keep playing

Farmlands and Fishing

The game does try to entice people to play more by including other systems such as the farmland and fishing systems. Farming serves as an alternative source of income in the game. You buy a piece of land, work it and eventually if you have done well in cultivating the piece of land it provides you the resources you need to build you up for the battles ahead Fishing is similar to farming though it needs more effort. The rewards are the same, but the means of getting them are different. Initially you would think that these two income earning mechanics are two different things, but if you look at it closely they are the same. They are just an attempt for Dark Legacy to make it look like you can do something aside from making your character stronger.

Vanishing Accounts

I’ve stumbled upon a problem in Dark Legacy. Your account seems to disappear after you have verified and logged into the game. The game also registers and shows how many players have created an account on that day, even if you have used the same email account to register. This problem is no laughing matter as it can be a nuisance and you may be mislead by it. Of course I do not need to elaborate on how irritating this problem would be, just imagine, you are already logged into the game and then suddenly when you click a link you are requested to re-login to find as you re-log that your account is erased. I say this as misleading because you may be lured to believe that the large number of players who registered are unique players and that the community is alive and kicking, when in fact it can also mean that the number of registrations you see is the re-registration attempts of just one person.

Conclusion

One of the biggest things any developer should concentrate on is the stability of the game. It would seem that Dark Legacy has a lot of problems in that regard especially in the game balance as well as the game database. For a game that has proudly said that it was released in 2006 and that the game is still   growing I find it disappointing that they would still have problems like this. The disappearing accounts problem is a problem in the game server, and that says a lot as about the people behind this browser game. To be honest the game does not really have that much going for it, the storyline is incoherent to continuity and there is no race balance. It does not bode well that Dark Legacy has these kinds of problems. Having the chat box system and the fishing/farming feature does not mean that it can cover for the lack of anything noteworthy in the game. You do not play a game that is half baked and hope that it gets better in the future.

It also seems that the game has a very low player turnout. It doesn’t tally with the amount of new registrations per day that the game proudly posts on its home page. With this said and done I would say that the game never really had a chance, it would’ve been a nice enough game to play if they were just able to stabilize everything in Dark Legacy.

Pros:
– The game has a chat box where you can talk with players who are online
– There is a wide variety of race choices that can suit your strategy
– Everything is already provided for you in the game’s interface.

Cons:
– The storyline does not make sense with the race choices that you have
– The game balance is faulty because some races seem to have no drawbacks
– The interface is cluttered.
