A Tank Dynasty Emerges in World of Tanks for Xbox 360

A Tank Dynasty Emerges in World of Tanks for Xbox 360 news header

Wargaming today announced the addition of a brand-new nation to World of Tanks on Xbox 360: China. A true tank dynasty, the Chinese Tech Tree is the seventh full nation to be added to World of Tanks on Xbox 360 and will include twenty of the country’s most formidable armored vehicles.

Featuring new light, medium and heavy tanks, players will be able to climb into the hatches of some of the most recognizable Chinese tanks to ever grace the battlefield, including the nimble Chi-Ha light tank, well-rounded Type T-34 medium tank, and the devastatingly powerful IS-2 heavy tank. Also joining the fight are three new Premium tanks, including the T-34-3 medium Tier 8, the 112 heavy Tier 8 and the Type 64 light Tier 6 all featuring increased XP earning power on the battlefield.

“From the start we’ve been committed to growing World of Tanks on Xbox with regular content updates and we’re excited to offer players a whole new nation in China,” said TJ Wagner, Executive Producer at Wargaming Chicago-Baltimore. “With some truly brutal and efficient armored vehicles, the Chinese line represents some of the most formidable armor to ever come from Asia and we’re looking forward to our players finally getting their hands on them. And remember, all content and progression will carry over to the Xbox One version of the game when it releases on July 28th through cross-play.”

In addition to the arrival of the Chinese line, the month of July is “Freedom to Play Month”, complete with special in-game offers, experience multipliers and two brand-new and rare tanks—Freedom and Liberté. Freedom, a custom-skinned T26E4 SuperPershing medium Tier 8, will be available in the store for a limited time starting on July 1st. Shortly thereafter on July 10th, Liberté, the rare French FCM 50 t heavy Tier 8, will make its in-game debut in celebration of Bastille Day, and will only be available for a limited time. Players looking for that little bump in experience will also net themselves a x5 XP multiplier on July 4th.

The Eternal Conflict is Live on Heroes of the Storm

The Eternal Conflict is Live on Heroes of the Storm news header

Since the Nexus portal opened on June 2, millions of players around the world have stormed the battlegrounds as powerful heroes of light, menacing agents of darkness, egg-laying baby amphibians, and stage-diving tauren. Now, Heroes of the Storm™ invites players to take sides in a war that has been waged between demons and angels since time immemorial—the Eternal Conflict!

The Eternal Conflict is an epic, multiweek in-game event that expands Heroes of the Storm into a whole new realm. In addition to bolstering the game’s playable roster of Heroes with three new characters from the Diablo® universe, the war between immortals heralds a variety of Diablo-themed character skins and mounts and opens the gates to two thrilling new Battlegrounds, starting with the Battlefield of Eternity. During the event, players should also be on the lookout for those infamous battlefield scavengers, the Treasure Goblins. Heroes who manage to track down these thieving creatures and eliminate them before a match will receive an in-game gold reward for their efforts.

“We’re excited to bring the world of Diablo deeper into the Nexus and introduce our first Battleground based on an existing universe,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “Players are in for a hellishly good time with the Butcher and other Heroes on the Battlefield of Eternity, and we can’t wait to add more Diablo-themed content to Heroes of the Storm as the Eternal Conflict wages on.”

Conquer the Battlefield of Eternity

Taking place at the shifting borderland between the High Heavens and the Burning Hells, the Battlefield of Eternity is the first Heroes of the Storm Battleground located within one of Blizzard’s established universes. As agents of supreme forces fighting for the fate of all creation, heroes will need to defend their core and attack the enemy while supporting their mighty Immortal, a massive angel—or demon—duking it out against their counterpart in the center of the map. Available in-game starting today, this Battleground features unique themed mercenaries such as Fallen shaman and Khazra impalers with Battleground-specific powers.

Master a Host of New Heroes

The forces of light and darkness will stop at nothing to emerge victorious, so they’re sending their most capable champions into the Nexus. Johanna, the heavily armored Crusader, has established herself as one of the Nexus’s most stalwart Warriors, but today she faces a familiar foe—a bloodthirsty demon known as The Butcher. Despite his formidable bulk, the Butcher is a damage-dealing melee Assassin who gains strength by gathering “fresh meat” from the remains of his fallen enemies. The Butcher’s Brand ability debuffs enemies so that he gains life with each attack, and he can also bring Lambs to the Slaughter, chaining his hapless victims to a post for the four longest seconds of their puny lives.

Leoric, the Mad King of Khanduras—best known to Diablo players as the Skeleton King—will be the next Warrior to enter the Nexus in the weeks ahead. Notoriously bad at staying dead, whenever Leoric is put down he will rise as a wraith to continue haunting his enemies. In this ghostly form, his attacks slow his enemies and accelerate his return to the mortal realm—until he eventually reforms at the location of his wraith.

Leoric will eventually have to face the next nephalem to heed the Nexus’s call—the Monk. The Monk is a mobile, versatile melee Support hero who can heal allies and choose between two hero-defining Traits to fulfill the needs of his team. Stay tuned to www.heroesofthestorm.com for more details on the Monk and other aspects of the Eternal Conflict in the weeks ahead.

Supernova Introduces New Playable Character Aelius

Supernova Introduces New Playable Character Aelius news header

Today BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America reveals a new playable character, Aelius, for Supernova, a free-to-play MOBA game with real-time strategy (RTS) elements. Currently live in Alpha 6, Supernova brings an innovative experience through its exciting sci-fi universe and customizable gameplay. Supernova will be available later this year for PC.

Aelius is a melee brawler who is part of The Faceless kingdom, a cruel and decadent empire built on slavery and staggering military strength. Growing up, Aelius was smaller and physically weaker than his peers. However, being born to highly influential politician parents, Aelius was set on a path to become a high-ranking military officer. Where Aelius lacked in physical strength, he made up with an intense ferocity, superior cunning, and unwavering determination. Aelius quickly climbed the ranks of the Faceless Legion, earning the title of Praetor and commanding his own siege army. With a number of victories under Aelius’ command, including the hard-fought punishing battle to conquer the undefeated Veskar warrior-race, Aelius was awarded with supreme command of The Faceless Explorer Legion — a vast, highly trained army dedicated to the purpose of seeking out new worlds to conquer.

Fun in the Sun as the RuneScape Summer Getaway Touches Down

Fun in the Sun as the RuneScape Summer Getaway Touches Down news header

Jagex Games Studio – creators and custodians of the fantasy MMORPG, RuneScape – today launched new content which has turned the desolate Lumbridge Crater into a holiday retreat for players to relax in this summer.

Although previously the battlefield of two gods, the RuneScape community has been working to turn the Lumbridge Crater into a little piece of paradise, just in time for summer. There are number of summer-themed activities to get involved with, including: sandcastle building, rock pool fishing, beach grills and even a coconut shy. Each activity rewards players with skill-based XP as well as a number of summer emotes and cosmetic items.

Not all the locals are friendly though as every hour a giant beach boss monster, named ‘Clawdia’ by the players, turns up to kick sand in their collective faces.  Defeating her quickly will provide players with the best loot including ice creams and cooling cocktails.

Finally, if you’ve missed out on festival tickets this year, then RuneScape has you covered.  The development team will be making guest appearances on a stage that will magically appear in the area. Their arrival will also herald happy hours which will gift increased XP for all beach events and activities.

RuneScape’s summer festival will be live until 31st August.
