Gamer Sensei teams up with H2K Gaming

Gamer Sensei Banner

Gamer Sensei, whom we recently worked together with [and shall again soon!] recently made a huge announcement. H2K Gaming, the world-renown gaming organization, mostly known for their EU LCS League of Legends team, is now going to be working exclusively with Gamer Sensei! Gamers/MOBA enthusiasts who desire to learn more from the H2K Pros can go to Gamer Sensei and pick up a tutoring lesson directly from them!  In addition to the team themselves, their coach Pr0lly will also be offering lessons as well. Many of these will be live streamed on Twitch, and some of the best stuff will be put into compilation videos on Youtube, which is also pretty exciting, and for someone who wants to get their name out their potentially for the pro scene, this could definitely be way to get their name out in a more public forum. H2K Gaming’s pros will also host a number of new videos including the latest tutorials, funny mid-game failure compilations and more as they highlight some of the best strategic and highly mechanical plays each month.

“A partnership with Gamer Sensei makes total sense for us,” said Susan Tully, CEO of H2K Gaming. “As a team known for a level of quality coaching and strategic play that makes us Hard to Kill, we’re a perfect match for what Gamer Sensei’s doing. We can’t wait to bring our knowledge and skills to players around the world through the Gamer Sensei platform.”

“We’re thrilled to have the H2K crew join our growing roster of expert professional coaches on Gamer Sensei,” said Jim Drewry, COO at Gamer Sensei. “The fact that H2K’s fans will be able to join the site and book a session with their favorite H2K player is very exciting and supports our goal of connecting esports pros with competitive players who want to learn from the best as they master their favorite game.”

As someone who has worked with, and had a lesson with someone on Gamer Sensei, I do highly recommend them. It was the most positive and helpful experience I’ve had in a MOBA game yet.

Animazement 2017, with Sara Stormborn!

I love Animazement, but another year has passed where I could not go. But I did have a close friend there, who was cosplaying and enjoying the event! Many many thanks to Sara Stormborn for her piece on Animazement [which you can find information on it here], and thanks to my friend Tenshi for her photos of the event! Animazement is a fantastic conglomeration of all sorts of nerdy hobbies located in the triangle [Raleigh-Durham] of North Carolina, and it’s always a blast. The only complaint I’ve ever had is it seems to pull the same famous acts almost every year. But I am beyond sad to have missed NOIZ.

Animazement 2017 was a fantastic mix of both nostalgia and innovation as the convention celebrated its twentieth birthday. Guests and performers both old and new returned to the Raleigh Convention Center this year, bringing with them all the fun and excitement my geek heart could handle. I was pleasantly surprised this year by how much friendlier both the Animazement staff and the convention center staff seemed to be. In past years, I have had some rude interactions, but this year as an attendee I had no problems whatsoever navigating badge pick up, or event attendance. I greatly enjoyed the convention’s use of the outside spaces surrounding the center for events as well. This broke up the monotony of having everything be inside and helped with the overcrowding which had been a problem in years past. The musical group NOIZ also returned this year, which I always find to be a very performance, and the members are very gracious to their fans. Being a fan of j-rock, I would like to see new musical guests in the future. Panels had a much better variety this year as well, with the addition of many adults only panels, and crafting workshops for those who do not mind paying a bit extra. The dealer’s room this year had a much more pleasant layout, and myself along with other attendees made note of the con’s addition of several seating areas. This was a huge help for those wanting to a place to eat or simply rest. The dining options in the convention center itself are still very

The dealer’s room this year had a much more pleasant layout, and myself along with other attendees made note of the con’s addition of several seating areas. This was a huge help for those wanting to a place to eat or simply rest. The dining options in the convention center itself are still very pricey but offered a greater variety this year, and many stands stayed open much later which was very convenient. My biggest concern with Animazement this year was the astronomical cost of parking. Convention center parking runs from about $7- $12 per entry, which if you live locally and want to leave and return, or if you are not at a hotel within walking distance, this adds up incredibly fast. In addition to this problem, parking decks located directly across from the convention center were closed to anyone but annual pass holders for much of the weekend, which was a huge inconvenience, even for someone who navigates the downtown area regularly. Many attendees also complained about the lack of outdoor activities after dark, which I believe is related to city ordinance. The absence of the outdoor dance parties which have become a staple at the con was surely felt. That being said, the indoor dances this year were very well done, with space utilized appropriately so that it was not overcrowded, or overly empty as it had some years past. Overall, I had a wonderful experience this year at Animazement, and I look forward to future innovations, and hopefully an increase in variety.
