BERKANIX

BERKANIX is the next MMORPG developed by SONOV, creators of Shaiya Online. The events of BERKANIX takes place in the future, where mankind has to find a new planet in order to survive. They chance upon a planet in the far reaches of the galaxy, where the environment allowed humans to live. However, the planet's native inhabitants aren't that pleased about the sudden arrival of the unwelcome guests. Armed with high tech weapons and armors, the humans will do whatever it takes to start life anew on the planet, without the inhabitants' disturbance. Hence, the war started.

 

The sci-fi settings should be the main selling point of the game. There aren't many MMORPGs using this theme, let alone making it successful. The game reminds me of Starship Troopers, and its a real draw for me. Jet packs, oversized alien mobs, cool weapons and armors, PvP and flashy skills, What's there not to like, and hype ? Not to forget the game is developed using Unreal Engine 3, the graphics is looking like a winner already. Like TERA, I suspect the game is being pushed for world domination, or rather a near simultaneous release for both English and Korean versions. Why else bother to spend more time and resources on creating an English website when the Korean version ain't even done ? Let's just hope the game is Free to Play.
