As many as you want as long as you can qualify for it and it doesn't interfere with any other events.
I myself am going for WTF Tae Kwon Do and Swimming hopefully in the 2016 Olympics if they are held in Tokyo or Chicago. Now if only the Olympics committee added ITF sparring to Tae Kwon Do

yes its humanly possible to compete in every event but not by yourself considering many of them are team events and 2nd no you don't have to be good at anything as long as the country dosen't give 2 shits you can go into the olympics...... note thats why china bought 600 athletes ..... which was like wow to me.... no offense meant what so ever to you chinese people out there

Wouldn't overlapping schedules prevent you from competing in everything?
Otherwise, I think you would be allowed to participate in every event.
