To add to that, NPCs in Conan just stand there, they do not feel alive. The merchants, blacksmiths, towns people etc, etc in towns are all standing and doing nothing. The only guys that move around are guards.

Most people in the game solo since you can solo your way easily from 1-80 if you wanted to. There were only 2-3 dungeons I needed help with from LVL 1-62 before I quit. Its not a very party up game, people only party the bare minimum they can.

So, to me at least the game felt like a ghost town many times that I logged in. Couldn't find people to party and didn't see many people in zones, it was boring. I was on Deathwhisper PVP server(most popular) and also a very popular PVE server with another character, same thing on both.
While I understand where you're coming from, there are some things I have to disagree with.

First of all, maybe I'm just used to other games, but even with the instancing areas would still seem crowded to me. Or maybe it just seemed crowded to me because every step I toke someone was trying to gank me...

I don't know where you got that NPC part... have you ever been to Old T? There are little kids playing tag in the streets, pedestrians yelling at and booing a criminal who's about to be executed, and people all over the streets casually walking around and chatting with other NPC's. I loved that city just because it seemed so alive.

And I also solo'd until around level 40. But I found that it isn't very hard to get a party for an instance. Everyone is always looking to do Sanctum, and fun instances like it. But it also is very possible, and very boring, to solo the entire game.

The matrix online has a living world, cars driving around, people walking around and such.

Even though I wasnt a fan of the gameplay, for the time I played FF11 I felt like I was in another "world" When I think of the game, its like a "memory" or sense of "place" I also got this feeling from GW (and PSO to some extent)...games with a certain atmosphere, weather effects, music, story line you feel part of that create "memories"

WOW never gave me that feeling...too generic...
Mabinogi I never felt was "real" enough because everythings so cartoony.
Even if it turns out to be a grinder, I bet AION will have a good ambience.
I love games that make you feel like youre in another world.

Completely OT but:

This Thread could do with some more Vivi

Seriously, I've never seen such a blatant ripoff of Orko than this Vivi guy. Someone should be sued. Lost a lot of respect for the FF franchise after that. Get some imagination. Geez.

I think she is refering to uniqueness... Not a "real world type of thing".

Maybe a game that has LOTS of character customization

And also a game with great community

If you people think WoW creates a sense of the "world", I will say ToonTown does too.
