Sometimes MMOs feel like glorified chat services- you just don't get sucked into them, or the real world keeps kicking you in the fanny, or you don't have a sense of identity compared with everyone else at your level in your class wearing your armour.
So what are some games that create that engrossing feeling that's kind of like our own world- not just in the respect of geography and lore, but also the way in which you interact with players, and the way in which you can differentiate yourself from other people? |

Dont get me wrong, I dont really like WoW, but in the sense of creating a world, IMO WoW is the best by far. Simple things like NPC's walking and running around, wolf riders taking their wolf to drink while you're running around the city creates a true fantasy atmosphere, rather than just placing your character in a random world to go kill monsters in.

And for me, everquest 2 has got to be the most realistic world I have ever seen..Everything in the game is based on realism (besides there being magic :P) |

Well NwN RP servers are really fun, theres a zombie server thats really fun cuz everyones arguing about hating each other and such and during battles sometimes they'll have a life changing decision to save them or to just leave them to die..well you get the point :P its really cool to experience it. Also I like getting a really small skinny guy and running around acting like I'm psychotic xD "OH MY GOODNESS I LOST IT!" "lost what" "I CANT BELIEVE ITS GONE WHERED IT G-..hmm..wait...where am I.." |
