Default Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince delayed until July 2009

The long awaited seventh/sixth/fifth/fourth instalment in the much overrated Harry Potter film franchise has been pushed back to July 2009, eight months after it was scheduled to premier on November 17th, infront of the not-so-Royal family.

Although the filming has been completed, the writer's strike has apparently delayed other projects. So Alan Horn, president of Warner Bros, says it will instead guarantee a huge Summer blockbuster for the company, whilst they use the eight months to finalise other scripts.

The final two Harry Potter films will be based on the final book, The Deathly Hallows, and will both be shot back to back next year.

It is thought actors Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson - who is celebrating getting straight As in her A Levels in English literature, geography and art, the ***** - will reprise their roles.

If you can't wait that long, here is a short trailer

ERROR: If you can see this, then YouTube is down or you don't have Flash installed.

I hope there's a lot more sexual tension in this one.

Aww.

I've always liked Harry Potter and looked to the new movies as a bench mark in every year. Kinda sad. I'm not a huge fanboy, but I think the movies are cool.

I think its pretty lame how they are breaking the last book into two movies. SPOILER maybe they will do more with Harrys life with his wife and kid etc....but I don't know how they could pull it off without using a different actor, which would ruin the movie anyway.

half blood prince is the 6th book, and I think the last book is being broken into 2 movies because there is too much things to explain in just 1 film, they gotta explain things thorougly for people who never read the books or they will be like wtf is going on

Wait, Daniel Radcliffe is still playing Harry? I thought they scrapped him...

Also: Aww, look at deh wittle Voldemort! Ain't he just adorable?

Edit:
@qais: I read the last book, and I still don't know what the **** was going on. That whole thing at the end was an epic pwn though.

A different Harry Potter in the movie would bring such a wave of negative feedback, movie ratings might drop. He's known as HARRY potter! Some people don't know his real name and call him HARRY POTTER! FOR CRYING OUT LOUD, HE'S HARRY POTTER!

Anyways, July 09 is a long time away.

I read this in a magazine.

Quote:
Millions of Harry Potter fans commit suicide due to the antipation of the next film which has now been pushed back 8 months pushing angry fans over the edge, literally. It is reported that 40% of the fans killed themselves with drug overdoses. Now that's what I call Sorcerer's Stoned. Over 35% bled to death from a stabbing wound. One reported prince is documented in doing so, I guess in hopes of living the title of the 6th installment of the book series. Nearly 20% reportedly ate contaminated birds on purpose. I'm guessing this is exactly what the phoenix ordered. And a staggering 5% died of deaths which no cause was found and so we'll keep those in the chamber of secrets.

I know nobody would have liked it, but I read somewhere that they were getting rid of the characters who played Harry, Hermione, and Ron because they were 'getting too old'. Made no sense to me, but I'm at least glad they didn't. Then the movies would make no sense.

Each Harry Potter books are based on a year of his life at school. The period between each year is the length of the summer or about 3 months. In the real world, it takes maybe 2 or 3 years to make the movies, so instead of Harry aging 3 months like he does in the book, when he goes back to Hogwarts, he's actually aged 3 years.
