So we'll not be able to download levels created by Japanese and US gamers.

The reason, he explained, is because each territory will have it's own dedicated server to which levels are uploaded.

"We've got regional servers," explained Smith. "But we can move levels around on servers whenever we want. But you won't have access to the Japanese servers," he added.

Will sony ever understand how online gaming works?

They're probably going to take the best levels of each region (via popularity) and move them around, since that guy that they could. I guess it's to stop level flooding?

Well theyare talking about having a locked region server for downloadable levels, so if they did region lock the servers for players, Im sure they would have said like with MGS4.

So this is why LBP has taken so long... The execs at Sony had to decide whether or not to have global or region servers... Ahaha.. it all makes sense why deadlines are never met.

LOL MFNB, I have to agree though it does make since now.
When I ever get a PS3 I want this game, I remember origonally watching the preview of the game like a year ago and was hoping it would be on PS3 or Wii back then because I was opted to get those two first (Wii because my family wanted to try it) but I ended with the Wii over the PS3... now I want it to be on the Wii which is probably the stupided sounding thing ever. But hay we never get what we really want, hopefully someone here can tell me if it is good when it comes out.
