Um, there is a quest that can give you a pet egg. It doesn't do much though. I was on the Korean Latale version which gave me the pet egg and since I couldn't understand anything I didn't know what to do with it. But all other pets that give special stats and abilities are bought from cash shop

The cash shop pets die after 60 days (I think?) then you must buy a cash shop herb to revive them except for one pet there is an ingame item to revive them (point of reviving so they keep their level and stat atrribute boosts for you)
