Guardians can do a lot of damage from what I see. Gunslingers can also do a lot of damage, but more in the terms of rapid hits, rather than strong single hits.

I would seriously say to go with the Guardian. Their accuracy is high, their HP is high, their damage is high. All you have to worry about is getting good enough armor, and you'll be alright in PvM.
