Let A = B.
Multply both sides by A.
Now its: A^2 = AB.
Subtrace both sides by B^2.
Now its: A^2 - B^2 = AB - B^2.
When you factor it, it becomes: (A + (A - = B (A - .
Simplify it, making it: A + B = B.
Now, since A = B, you can make it: B + B = B.
Now to simplify: 2B/B = B/B.
Anything divided by itself is one, so the final equation would be: 2 = 1.

I cannot find an error in this equation, so.. What the hell?
i dont get how it becomes this, i see it as (A)(A)-(( = (A)(-((
and since "A = B", the equation can simplify into either A = A, B = B, A = B, or B = A

Lol, A=B because there is no set values to B? I always thought A and B would differ, would that make P=T?

For every set of equations, there are established facts. In this instance it is established that A=B. However in another problem, maybe A=-B. Technically though you could then replace each B with an A and solve however the OP did not.

The reasoning behind these 'illogical' problems is that you take the most scenic route to solving equations then you break some unforseen mathematical rule which is now hidden in the scenic mess. Most cases involve dividing by a 0 or in 'real' terms, sqrt. of a negative. Both are simple and have their flaws... but really don't prove anything except for the ability to contort the human mind.

That's like saying a banana equals to monkey.
