Okay, I have been playing La Tale since the second or third day of the open beta. I thought the game would be fun, and technically, the game was fun. Enduring as a knuckle Knight, and then leveling away as a crossbow Explorer, that were some of the pleasurable highs in the game. However, after today’s maintenance patch, my heart sunk to an all-time low of something unexpected – community.

After the maintenance of 8/27/08, OG Planet released Microphones, which allows people to talk throughout the whole server. I thought, “Hey this might be a nifty way to see how the community is!” So I bought some, 12 Microphones for 4 Astros. It was rather fun to talk to the community, but the gimmick ended instantly.

The main complaint is that the gameplay after the patch suffered greatly because of the new item. Yesterday I was playing fine with Windowed mode, but after the maintenance, I can’t even do a single movement without lag bothering me. So, because I’ll also assume this was partially my fault for instigating this, I started to state that LaTale had to upgrade their server if there had to be a lag-free game.

However, instead of polite disagreement, I got flat-out rude remarks, stating I should upgrade my computer and a wooden box, and people bragging that they had no lag whatsoever. To be honest, I understand the sever issues of Open Beta, but with the community like this? I can’t be bothered to play a game like this at all.

I played and reviewed Sword of the New World with no problems. I have also played and reviewed Wonderland Online in the first server full with no problems, but why does this game have to lag so much? And more importantly, the community has to be downright despicable towards someone’s rant?

Well, I play fullscreen mode without problem and the spam of microphones doesnt bother nor lag me, my sister plays on a 2ghz box of shit with onboard graphics and shes fine no lag either, it probably is just some connection issues. And if you run away from every game just because someone was mean to you, you shouldn't really be playing online games because there is always assholes among the nice people ...btw I was one of the one who tried to help you but my message got overtook by flames from those nubs who talk about MS every second =P And I see you played MS a long time so you must be used to this server wide chat and assholes I'm sure?

I'm used to MS's community. And I usually ignore it. Don't get me wrong, I also hate the community in Maple Story also. But the fact that people are downright rude, when people KS for selfishness, curse out a GM, and then flame just because they have better computers because their mommies bought them the computer (and believe me, I went to the Latale forums, and it's filled with immature spammy users), I think I had enough of the game.

Well, they are "free". It's no surprise that people are spamming them.
When they actually cost Astros, hopefully you won't have an issue.

sorry to double post this, but in a sense, they were right. Coincidentally, my monitor plug outlet for my computer somehow can't go into the slot, so i was looking for a new wire. So i stumbled upon a new graphics card better than mine. So i popped it in my computer, installed it, and whaddya know! No lag!

lol it's not going to be any different. People having to buy Smegas doesn't stop people from spamming retarded messages with them daily on MS so what makes you think it'll be any different when they release LT?. The real question is, will that be what kills the game for you?

It wont be as bad as in OBT since there going to have to buy it instead of getting it for free and we arent sure if thats even the price for a mic.. i mean they probably just lowered it so we can use it..
By official release the constant spam in OBT will be gone since not everyone will be having 1000 points on their account but still, you have a point in saying that there will still be mindless retarded messages in the chat

What does annoy me, though, is that everyone thinks the GMs own the freaking server. That's so freaking annoying. >_<
