I'm looking for an MMO set in modern day.
It doesnt have to be free or anything. I've already played city of heroes/villains for like 2 or 3 years, and MxO is nearly dead. Also, please...please....dont suggest browser based games or text based games. games based in the near future are okay, but no space stuff, or stuff with lasers and energy swords. apocolyptic stuff is okay |

thanks, but that reminds me of gunz online instead of an actual MMO. i also wanted to point out i didnt want a driving game. and an actual game that is an MMO instead of just being and online game, via pure death match stuff.
i've been searching for years but i dont think one exsists beyond CoH and MxO T_T |

Yeah, Ran is modern.
Here are some I know of: Warrock Tabula Rasa(it might be too futuristic for your taste, but it is pretty good.) I'm not sure if Anarchy Online is too futuristic for you. Empire of Sports is good if you like sports games. Other than those, I can't think of many games like that. Most people want to be either futuristic or fantasy when it comes to online games. I guess that if it is too close to reality, they don't like it as much.

thanks for the suggestions guys
but none of the games are what im looking for. some are too futuristic others arent even MMOs I've also played most of these games. I've been playing MMOs since i was 12 (im 21 now) and fantasy games and futuristic games are nothing new to me, (not to mention i've already played/tried them already) it seems they all follow a formula. it works, but still, nothing new. i'd settle for a kung fu game. there some out there, but they are the same too. they have weapons that you must buy to keep up with and for some reason, magic. i guess my taste is kinda weird now. i've grown to like games that dont involve magic nor scifi "tech magic". i guess its back to single player games at least until fallen earth comes out but that'll prolly have a prize shop
