depends on how you define "smart" i think...
if you are good at memorizing, you are "smart" at remembering stuff and storing information for long-term. if you are good at analyzing and thinking, then you are "smart" at logistics and analytical type of intellectual stuff.

I forget stuff all the time, but I consider myself academically intelligent, IQ is somewhere above 120 ( I'm not sure what the exact score is, I took an IQ test when I was a bit younger, and scored pretty high. Taking it again a couple grades later), straight A's with a few B's, and I really have no problem academically. School is so easy, it's almost ridiculous. Oh well, it'll probably change in the future.
