Default New Open-RvR Server - Rakarth <--Bad

Welcome to Open-RvR! Rakarth awaits all those who seek the challenge and excitement of Open-RvR combat. Below you will find what separates an Open-RvR server from the Core rule set - it's not for everyone but it might be for you!

Open RvR Server Ruleset

Are you ready for the next challenge in RvR? Do you love the adrenaline rush of always having to look behind your back for the enemy? If so, then we welcome you to Open RvR, where you will either shine or falter in a constant battle for glory! Battle your enemies outside of the RvR lakes and affect the fate of your realm! Your Chapter 1 hub and your capital city are the only locations in the game where you have safe confines, of course that is until your city becomes under attack.

Rules:
- Players are always RvR flagged from the moment they log in
- Chapter 1 hubs and capital cities are safe
- There is no bolster buff in RvR lakes
- Players will be chickened when entering an area that is two tiers below their level (ex. A Tier 3 player entering a Tier 1 area.)

I think this is a bad idea. Its going to be like wow ganking lawl. How it is now as "Core" Is nice. Not so hard to find skrimishes if its contained to just the rvr area. Like in tier 3-4 it gets HUGE where it takes 5000-10000 players to play if its open its not going to be fun. And who really enjoyed being ganked by a person 20 lvl higher then you?

Well thats my 2cents dont flame me because of my idea. I just want to hear what other people think of this "Open RvR"

Been playing the Open RvR Ruleset on Warpstone (Elder Server) and it's where the RvR is at. It's the ruleset I and my friends will be using at launch. It's not for everyone, but for people like me it's a blast and a welcome addition to the game. I hate safe zones with a passion and welcome anyone trying to gank me.

Well, this is great news for rogue-type players like the Witch Hunter (me), since it means that we'll be able to more actively hunt for people more frequently instead of that one odd stray from the zerg every so often.

As for fun, then yes open RvR may not be as fun for people who prefer fighting in huge battles in warzones, but as people will be more scattered then this puts more emphasis on fighting in small numbers which some people enjoy, and some classes (ie Witch Hunters again) need in order to perform at their best.

open RvR was my main target, but now im considering core servers. but not for the points you named there.

since your main concern seems to be ganking, i can tell you that

a)in open any lvl12,22,33 going one tier below will chicken.for open its ONE tier below, not 2

so no,the max difference of levels will be 11.

b)that isnt as "harsh" as you may think. unlike other games,in WAR 2 level 10s can beat a lvl21 easily.

core and open have several good and bad points each. but the fear of being "ganked" should be the least of your concerns.

and that is a GOOD point for open servers. c'mon, bolster only falsifies your level and stats. if you want buffs, party with buffers.

free buffs to make you harder than you actually are (and deserve to be) when going alone is something i dont agree at all

That depend on gears. Double kite might win, not otherwise.

right
or tank + ranged dps

actually any class besides WP (which are hands down OP) will always lose in a 1 vs 2,as long as the level difference is not extreme. gear is not that significant.

Most classes are only balanced for endgame RvR anyway. At rank 11 with my Sword Master I could take out up to 3 people alone if they were under rank 7 even if they had a healer.
