Also, to have 500-1000 people on a server at once requires a pretty expensive piece of hardware.

very simple, currently the mirage engine uses WINSOCK, but if you reaplace winsock with ICOP then you can run a server that can hold 500-1000 players, depending on your pc,! lol, BUT the server must run on a XP console, the 2000 machines arent fit to hold so many connection's,

So the operating system that was built to be implemented as a server, has the ability to hold less users than the operating system made for home use? :confused:

2000 consoles, wernet manufactured to hold too many connection's, while the XP home and pro was built in a certain way where we can allow more users to connect, VB is so old, that the engine uses the winsock as a main server hosting refrence while ICOP was programmed in C++ BUT works on VB6.
