Why do I want to play Runes of Magic?

Anyone remember a small game called Ultima Online? Well I do and the first thing that intrigues me about Runes of Magic is the Housing system. Since UO I have not really seen a game with player housing like this one. With player housing it makes you feel like you live in the game and have a place of refuge to go to after slaying numerous monsters, questing, dungeon crawling. The 2nd thing is the dynamic generated dungeons. No 2 dungeons will be the same and I know for one that crawling the same dungeon over and over can get a bit boring but not here. Hope this gives you a little insight to one gamers mind.

Why i want to play Rune of magic

The house system is uniqe and ive never seen anything like that ever before. The dual-class system gives you a ton of opportunities for pvp or pve, lovely graphics.
The crafting is awsome since you can start working on many different jobs and then go over to one epic crafting to craft yourself some nice epic items for making money or power.
the dungeons are especially nice since you have tons of different dungeons and there are dungeons that are dynamically generated dungeons that sounds like a challanging place.
Over 600 quests gives you a nice way to lvl and earn money on and there are dynamically generated quests aswell.
The Server vs. server pvp seems awsome how the combat will be a mess tho:P

"Hope to win a key to try this awsome game out"

Default Runes of Magic beta

One of my pet peeves concerning mmorpgs is comments like "it's good, for a f2p" or "it's lacking content, but it's f2p so what can you expect" or any comment that implies that it is acceptable in some way for f2p games to be inferior or substandard because they are free; that they shouldn't strive to the same levels as any mmorpg. I have watched the developer videos, and read the interviews and the developers are excited to bring this game to life. They have high expectations and a vision for it that I admire. I firmly believe that if you don't love your product then you shouldn't make it.

I have heard the comments about how this game "borrowed" features from World of Warcraft and my opinion on this is...wonderful! The saying about not reinventing the wheel definitely applies here. All mmorpgs have used certain features from previous games (including World of Warcraft) and it makes good business sense. What the developers of Runes of Magic did was use certain successful features to build a basic framework. They then added their own creative concepts, molded them, and lovingly sculpted this wonderful creation.

The housing system looks marvelous and is something that I feel is overlooked in so many mmorpgs today. It may seem like a small thing but I really enjoy having a place to display my achievements and just kick back and relax with some friends.

The ability to dual class I am extremely excited about, I have felt locked into a single class that didn't quite fit with my style in most mmorpgs today (I am an old time tabletop Dungeons and Dragons player and multiclassing was something I enjoyed immensely). The strategic and tactical opportunities should be wonderful.

The Dungeons, likewise, will allow for fantastic game play since you will face new challenges each time you step into them.

The game has a very complete feature set and so far I am excited about every one of them.

Beta testing is one of the final steps to finishing this piece of art. The features and game play need to be put through their paces, and pounded with everything the game community can throw at it to see where the breaks occur so they can be properly mended. Game text needs to be poured over with a fine-toothed comb to correct any misspellings, grammer errors, mistranslations or inconsistencies (a problem that continues to plague f2p and some p2p mmorpgs). It allows the community to input suggestions on game balance and improving /expanding some features. It also helps build the initial community that will become the in-game guides, and forum assistance that will help answer new player questions and ease them into the game; this will (hopefully) help take some of the pressure off the GM's so they can focus on the issues only they have the knowledge and tools to resolve. The end result is that when the official launch day comes new players will have the most awesome experience that they can.

I am excited to have an opportunity to bring my small contribution to this game and help it fulfill the vast potential I see in it. Thank you.

Default Rom ftw

What makes u wanna play Runes of Magic?

Runes of magic seems to take the best elements from several other games and puts them together in one mmorpg. I have played/tested just about every free to play mmo there has been over the past 3 years. ROM has the great class building system as guildwars (mixing 2 classes, with primary, secondary skills), the great in depth crafting/gathering style system from WoW, A great in-depth housing system like in SWG, And several other gameplay features!! too many to list here and you can just look at the official site too anyway. But the point is that the developers have clearly been watching other mmo's and understand what has made other mmo's great, and then taken the best features from them and put them in ROM. The art direction is similar to WoW BUT with a more adult twist, i think WoW's art feels like disney, were as ROM would feel more like warner bros' (cartoon wise) There similar at first glance, but ROM has more details an realism.

If this game plays as good as it looks in the videos, screenshots, forums then it will have amazing depth and playability, just wish i could try it

P.S - Please put in mounted combat at some point!! thats the only thing it needs.

What makes u wanna play Runes of Magic?

I have played many MMO's for few years now from Runescape to Lineage 2 but they all miss something important there is many different kind of MMO's out there and everyone of them has good quality's some has good story line some of the has good game master's and good support but i never have come across MMO that has them all and i think i finally found it Rues of magic has them all good GM's, good story line it has over 600 quest's thats never been done before thats one of the most im portant thing's that drawn me to this game many good games like World of Warcraft is pay to play so not many people can experience good online game but one of the most best thing in Runes of magic is that it's free so everybody can enjoy it. Runes of magic also has the dual class system that will really make the game more balanced than some other online game now people's who like to use priest's can easily solo and they dont need to look for party like some other MMO's require so those are one of the most important thing's that makes me want to play Runes of Magic this is the game that will make compete agains't the long ruled World of Warcraft.

I'd like to play Runes of magic because it has some uniqueness that separates it from our current average free-to-play mmorpg's.
Runes of magic has a highly advanced housing system that I've never seen before, not even in a pay-to-play game. It also has the dual class system which I've only seen in Guild Wars (A very different style of game). Runes of magic combines the good features out of every game into one. It's similar to WoW but with better graphics, and less money spent
Frogster Interactive did not do very well at the beginning, but who are we kidding? No company does well at the start of the very first beta they hold to the public. Frogster is doing just fine now, I've been active on the forums and sadly the community isn't that great. Everyone is ticked off at not getting a beta key, or is naturally idiotic. But either way, like every other game there are the good and the bad.
RoM's IRC has very nice people which I intend to play with if I ever get a CB invite.
I'd like to try this game out and help test it, it's very promising in my view.
Thank you,

Default Why do I want to play Runes of Magic?

I've been playing MMORPGs on and off for a reasonably long time (10+ years), and there has never been a genre of games that has really captured my attention like them. Most of it is due to the interaction these games allow with real people, an experience you can't hope to copy with any singleplayer game, no matter how well designed.

Despite my love of the genre, there hasn't been a new game for a long time that has really captured my attention. Runes of Magic however, is kind of like my dream game in a lot of ways. My favorite things about it are:

The World: I'm a big fan of western high fantasy, always have been.

The crafting system: I always felt asian MMOs were a little stronger in this regard and Runes of Magic looks like it will deliver at least that level of crafting depth. I look forward to the player driven economies that good crafting systems make.

Housing: This seems to be an overlooked feature in many new-school MMOs

Dual Classing: If its anything like the system in Guild Wars, it promises a lot of depth over a very simple and easy to understand exterior, which is exactly what I want from a game. If I like an MMO I'll try to get friends to play it and too much apparent complexity can push away new players.

PvP: Like icing on the cake with all the above in mind.

So that, in a few words, is why I want to play RoM. I want to revisit a familiar experience the way I always wanted it to be. I want friends to be able to join me easily. I want to be a part of a game that has captured my imagination. I want to be around for every step of development and contribute to making this a wonderful experience.

I would like to play runes of magic becouse NO other f2p mmo has even came close to the looks and style of RoM. plus its got dungeons, mounts and this is something i really like... Visible Helmets. the house options are very kewl also. its going to be nice to go home after a day of monster killing and kick back in my crib to rest up for another day of monster hunting. it would be an honor to be able to get into the CBT for RoM. i have also beta tested many many other games.
