Dude, for spikes like that they don't use hair gel.
They use wax.

EDIT: Also your hair is nowhere near that long anyway.

Murray's Pomade? Dude, that shit is strong as concrete. I used it once at a cosplay convention. My friend asked me to try, at first its soft but it stays up nicely but after a few minutes...
Hell Yeah. Its kinda easy to wash off. But its hard to scrape of the sweat+pomade off your face.
