well since im workin now i want to save up for a better pc then the one i have.mine was ok when i got it like 3-4 years ago and can run some games like wow with a decent ammount of lag but still playable.
i dont want a really high spec high cost pc i just want one that will be able to run games without lag and able to be put on high/max settings.the pc i currently use cost me like $900 but i got it from rent a center and wanted it paid off in 3 months (they have this stupid rule where if you dont pay it off in 3 months they tack on another like $300+).ive talked to some friends who have uncles who builds comps and they said a good one that can run any game out right now without lag should only be like $500 total but i also remember some of my friends pc's were built so they might be cheaper.anyone have any insight? |

No lag on max / no high specs / cheap?
You are in the pursuit of as we call it over here "the egg laying wool-milk-pig". Those 3 won't go together. @500$: That would be not really called a good one, rather a really shitty one, that most likely break into a constant stuttering with any recent game you throw at it in reduced resolutions. Games to come would be unplayable for sure. |

The WoW engine is what, 8 years old?
(Just checked, yea it is.) You should have been more specific; any recent PC with a dedicated graphic-card, that you can buy as for now will run those games, if it ain't coming from the garbage-bin from back in time. Last edited by Ronin; 09-23-2008 at 11:09 AM. |

WOW system requirements are fiendishly low compared to what single-player games need nowadays (8 years, that's nearly a decade). I do not do system configs for peeps abroad, from where I live, I got no sellers experience and don't know the precise worth of the components and things like that, but I am sure someone might do that, if you ask specifically. Staying under 600$ would likely be possible with a configuration that will easily satisfy your needs, for another couple of years, if you are going to use it pretty much the same way than you did with the other one and were ok with that. I reused my tower, Hard drive and dvd/cd burner and with a little over $500 I got a some parts for a pc that could play crysis and crysis warhead oh max settings and they both run smooth.
although building a pc from scratch like that wold cost around 700-800 depending on the parts and excluding the monitor. It could handle anything out and games in the future too. |

Card-$90.00
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...553&CatId=1826 MotherBoard-$120 http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...075&CatId=2541 PSU-$85 or $100 after rebate http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...149&CatId=1079 CPU-$130 http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...=CP1-DUO-E7200 Case-$70 http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...&Sku=A107-1050 RAM-$50 http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...&Sku=O261-8038 Sorry about it being messed up, I acidentally pressed enter when I was compiling this for you. Your limit is $500 right? This is like $450 roughly, but you better buy the junk before rebate or else it might go above $500 (maybe like up to $550 or a bit more). Edit:Hey lakeoftears, I suggest buying a heatsink for your cpu once you get more money, don't want your computer overheating and maybe some extra fans. Edit2:I've replaced the 9500GT with a 9600GT, much more better performance for a bit more cash. Edit3:I've just notice that the mother board isn't pci-e 2.0, I'm not sure if they do make a notable difference but your card is compatible with pci-e. Invest if you want; when you get moar cash.
