I'm just curious. I suppose I should clarify my term a bit as it is confusing and so for a definition, I'm not really talking about like the hardcore anime stuff like the older series. I'm more talking about series that kinda focus more on the otaku world, possibly a parody, or you'd only understand it if you are an otaku. Both the former and the latter would probably not be enjoyed if you aren't an Otaku and thus you'd probably never show it to someone unless you knew they are Otaku or they'd think your crazy and weird.

Anyway, for examples I'll create a list of what I'm talking about:
Genshiken
Lucky Star
NHK ni Youkoso
Excel Saga

And to a semi-lesser extent:
Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu
Furi Kuri
Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei
Azumanga Daioh

There are probably more, but this is what I could come up with for the purposes of this thread.

Anyway, I do like this stuff and will seemingly jump and latch onto any new series of these sorts. But I can't really explain why I like it other than the fact that I can relate to it. Some series are funny but not all are that funny and when I step back and look at the series objectively and from a casual view, I don't think I could really enjoy the series if I wasn't a crazy otaku to begin with. So...what about the rest of you?
