I didnt see any bots on the official, but on *cough* server there are a few hackers. but they can only hack for a day or 2. the server makes a log-file out of everything and you can see what everyone was doing. hacks are:
wear lvl 55 equipment on lvl 1 or you can crash the server and dupe.
I'd suggest to play on the bigger *cough* servers because their develpoers are teh shit. no chance for hackers, but any overpowered donators. retail is kinda the best, although the leveling is slow, at least for the summons xD
paimon is a summon nd it takes many months to get him to max lvl, but then he cannot be killed.
all in all on retail its fun, on *cough* servers it depends if there are many donators, or if youre one yourself.
best thing propably is that you can go to the maps of the different races and rape some lowbies or use a stealth potion to launch a surprise attacks on higher level chars. once they are killed you'll get shitloads of reputation. but be aware the community isnt the nices, because the races really hate each other >.<
