I'm kind of upset with the community's snobbery and pride about aoc's niche marketing. It's not being MARKETED towards kids, it's being MARKETED towards adults with high end computers. That's their intended market. Whether kids gets their grubby little hands on it is irrelevant. That said it doesn't change the attitude I've received from aoc bloggers and commentators, which IS kind of immature. They sometimes say rude things like I don't deserve to play AoC because of my "premade" (which it isn't) and that I need to have a computer that has more graphics capabilities than a toaster. Well when you're a stay at home mom on one income and you have a toddler to buy clothes and food for you don't get to allocate all of your financial earnings on a sweet rig.
I should go back to playing WoW with the rest of the dell computer users.
I can run AoC but I've heard through the grape vine that I could run EQ2 faster on my machine on max settings than I could run AoC on minimum settings. Which is not good. Also AoC allegedly looks terrible on min settings.
I hate to say it, but I'd like another "WoW" to come out. Sans the wannabe e-sport. But a game that's financially friendly and with lots to do. Rohan's looking promising.
