I'd probably kill myself, if I lost any of those two abilities in my youth.
Let's be realistic: it sucks big time to lose such important abilities,when you're young.

Sight. We're too far behind from being able to restore vision but we already have few hearing devices.

But if such advances weren't being made, I'd choose hearing over sight.

Definitely blind.

People who are totally deaf (depending on the cause, of course) can usually not get hearing aids. Also, they are much much more isolated socially since they cannot hear what is going on around them.

Blind people, on the other hand, can still function in society, although they cannot usually live alone. In the long term, I'd rather be blind and function in society and enjoy things like music, then live in a world of silence and strangers.

Yeah! That makes so much sense. Even though I'm still young and will have several more times of experience in life than I've had so far, even without a sense, I should just kill myself since losing just one out of my five senses is enough not to live for.
