How many e-mails did you recieve per day and about how many players did you assist per day in these private servers? In some of the bigger games, you could be dealing with 500+ suggestions, e-mails, and jerks per day and over 50 new players who require assistance getting a grip on the game per day (this is based on some data I pulled spending a few days following a mod around in runescape, following higher level players around in flyff, and being an admin for a couple mmorpgs before I finally decided I wanted to help make them not mod them! ^_^)
Results on the new players is a bit exaggerated, the maximum new players per day I've seen on runescape spending some time in Lumbridge, about an hour total, and taking note of level 3s that pass by avoiding copying the same name twice, (information blotted by a bit there) is around 10, maximum number on Flyff was about 3-9 but you can guess where the blots are there =D I wholeheartedly wish the jerks, e-mails, and suggestions was inaccurate...but...well...yea that's pretty much true.

As Darkhell153 told its not so easy as it sounds, and private server databases are usually overfilled with bugs (gues whos fixing them...).
NoodlePowa I don't know how to convince, youl just have to trust me. And its all about trust, when you write an application to Blizzard they will never request evidence of your work, they will just wait couple of months to see are you responsible at your workplace and decide if you are suited for the job. ![]() It sounds more like he is exaggerating his experience with some out-of-package server and attemping to mislead people that he has experience on some real supporting. What kind of "customer support" is there on a private server? There must be thousands of them, so people will just play the new one if the other fails, since it is all free. Quote:

Just putting in my two cents:
If you are going to be hiring a GM for a game, it seems smart to get one out of your own community, so you can see what they have done, how they interact with the community, and so you can tell if they have actually played before. |
