Nah it's not about opinion or discussion. I want to get out of my Pre-Calculus class, and I was wondering since its almost been the first 9 weeks, is it too late for me to drop out of the high school course and just take something online? Becuase if I keep on with this dreadful class will lower my GPA and on top of that im probably gonna have to retake something next year, and I'm a senior... Any inputs? I'm probably gonna decide whats going down by the end of this week.

i suggest talking with your guidance counselor. He/she should point you in the right direction. If this were a college course you were taking, you cannot drop it if the deadline for dropping courses is past.
i suggest, if you are doing so bad to the point that you will have to reconsider taking it, drop if you can, and then take it over the summer. You're a senior...do you REALLY want to repeat another year for 1 measly course? |

Your counselor is your best friend here. Usually pre-calculus is not a requirement for graduation but it is recommended that you take math all 4 years. Maybe take a different math class IN SCHOOL. It is in your best interest to graduate high school in 4 years and not take online courses.

Is this about leaving school completely or leaving school for 1 class to take it online and then coming back?
I highly doubt my school EVER offered anything like that...ever. But if yours does, it sounds like a damn good way to get out of a shitty class to me. |

Its way to late. My school was not semestered so we had 8 classes at once. 4 on one day, 4 on the next.
Anyway, and for us the last day to give up was the beginning of November. Which is about 6-8 weeks. So if your not semestered than you are screwed. |

for me dropping out is just an effect of what you did through out your school days.
But anyways my advice is if you are rich or your parents can still afford to get you to repeat a subject then just drop it otherwise its best to talk to your prof to make up exams or projects to help your grade to a passing/acceptable point. That is if you werent that lazy. Besides if you dont like the subject REPEATING it isnt the best way to do it.

Each school system can handle this differently. YOu need to talk to your counselor to figure out what your options are. No one here, unless they know your school system already, can give a definitive answer.
