Game Name : Worlds Apart Online
Description : Long ago the earth became a scorched desert due to runaway global warming. Ships were built to carry a select few to a new planet where the human race could continue to survive. During their journey they were pulled into a spatial rift. 10 ships entered, only 6 emerged on the other side. When the fleet was unable to determine the fate of the other ships, they continued on to the nearest solar system. There they found an earth-like planet. They named it Solana, and made it their new home. 2 other planets in the system were found to also be habitable, although their conditions were harsh. Small mining colonies were setup on these planets to provide raw materials that couldn't be harvested on Solana. Corporations have now been formed, and the beginnings of an economy has begun. The greatest need right now is for cargo transport pilots. The task you've been given is to take your small 2 pod cargo ship and fulfill the contracts available at Solana, Dakar, and Arcada. Colonies depend heavily on the regular flow of supplies. It can mean life or death if a food shipment doesn't make it through. Deliver the goods, get paid, keep flying. Eventually you'll earn enough to buy a bigger ship. You might even make enough to start your own shipping company. Publisher : KISTech Systems Platforms : Windows PC Only (for now) Genre : 3D Space MORPG Release : January 2010 (maybe sooner.) Beta 0.06.16 has been released.
Major changes since version 5: - New network library integrated - Completely rewritten server architecture allowing multiple servers to act as a Realm - Each Realm has the capacity for up to 400 players (so far) - New artwork is trickling in from the art department, so the programmer art can start to go away. - A basic level of detail system has been added that will be enhanced over the development period of version 6. |
