*I am not gonna go into mega details because, seriously, wall of text. Plus, I am not in the mood to write.
AQ Worlds is an RPG by the people who made: Adventure Quest (First game they ever made.), Battleon, ZardKnight, Mechquest, and several other games. AQ Worlds let's you chat with other players, own monsters, participate in events and quest, and show off your bad-*** blade of might. The game is pretty fun, but if your not intrested in playing a game you have to pay for to do most of the stuff. This isn't for you... AQ Worlds is fun, addictive, and quirky, but what really makes it horrible is the following things:
The game loses the fun factor when you find out your gonna have to pay to do lots of stuff (and 75% of the game is members.), unlike AQ, Runescape, and several other games you would rather play. Overall, AQ Worlds SUCK (with the members shit.) and it defeats the purpose of playing knowning your gonna have to pay to get that sweet sword. Final Score: 4 (Fun and epic overworld, nice community, can't chat without being a member? 75% of the game is members only, lots of great content, fun-factor is destroyed with members.) |

I am often amazed at how some indy groups try to monetize their pbbg's, most of they really don't have a clue and so they get it all wrong, I think the game you reviewed is a good example of this.
Devs seem to assume that since they can develop a game, that they can also monetize a game. But these require two completely different set of skills, one requires creativity and programming intelligence, and the other requires a strong sense of business. Having skills in one area does not necessarily mean skills in another area too... this is why the best PBBG's are team efforts bringing in lots of skill sets. Does this game feature in-game interaction... or is it just a single player game with chat? Good, honest review. Thanks. If you feel so inclined to review pbbg's, message me.

The attributes you list above are common for ALL MMORPG's and nearly all RPG PBBG's. That does not compare one game to another, it only classifies it as the same type of game. A rip is a game that uses the same model, similar or exact graphics and images, the same design structure, etc... According to you, every game ever made is a rip because it may share one or two characteristics. There is a difference between game type or classification, and a clone. When you see a new cartoon do you say it's just like every other cartoon in the world because it's animated? Or does the cartoon have different characters, plots, objectives, heroes, genre, etc... etc... etc... One does not say that Scooby Doo is just like Voltron because they are both animated. You see the point? AQworlds is nothing at all like guild wars or WoW, AQworlds is only loosely classified as the same type of game but as a RPG PBBG. I hope this will help you to understand game types and classifications. Relating to the game, I noticed that it requires port access to two ports that are commonly closed at public locations. In my opinion, the overwhelming benefit of PBBG's over MMORPG's is that they are portable and can be played from any location. Games like Runescape, Pardus, Fallensword, and Fragoria do not utilize ports that are commonly closed so they can be enjoyed from nearly any location like school, work, libraries, cyber cafes, and on notebooks that plug into various free or paid wifi providers throughout a city (this is how I test the portability of PBBG's where I live). So ignoring how fun (or not) the game may actually be, I think that the devs have really missed the entire point of the attraction to PBBG's or they would have used more common ports.
