True: Samurai Champloo is an excellent anime (and one of the few great dubs); however, it is not the most original. There are several animes that come out every couple of years that can hold that title, Samurai Champloo is one of them, but not the only one.
"Death Note" is among that list of original animes, as very few animes actually featured a siister anti-hero as the main character.
"Higurashi no naku Koro ni" (and kai) where both excellent animes. I enjoyed both of them way ore than I did with "Samurai Champloo" (In particular because I favore plot lines with time travels and parallel universes, and the slight philosophical creepieness it created).

Next time, when suggesting an anime, I suggest you try to not claim it as the best, or at least not better than [inset anime name here], as you'll find someone may not respect your own opinion and flame you to hell.
Also, provide more reasons as to why you enjoyed the anime. "They mix Hip Hop with samurai so well," is not particularly a good enough reason.

The action man!!!!
The main character is fucking awesome. Mugen and Jin kicking ass together. It mix hip hop culture with Samurai so well. Ever notice the part where when their swords slash its like a hip hop beat......
And at least Samurai Champloo is a English title, where Higurashi whatever has some damm long Jap title.
