I was thinking about getting a PS3 for christmas, I do enjoy the fact that the online portion is free(is it?). I also like 2.5D fighting games. Like Soul calibur, and Guilty Gear, Where you fight side-by-side, you can dodge by side stepping.
So is it worth it? Also, is there a 2D fighting game for the computer?

The online is free, but the experience tends to be worse than the 360 experience (apparently the PS3 game makers have to host their own servers, which would make sense as to why they can't compete versus microsoft servers).

$50 a month get you some pretty great shit on the Xbox 360. Ive been in quite a few exclusive beta tests and I have downloadable content for some of my favorite games to look forward to.
You also need to consider one thing that seems very overlooked: How long can Sony offer free online? They've had some pretty big busts this year and their flagship online component Home, which I'd consider more of a life simulator only without the fun, seems to be a huge flop that continues to eat up money with no real release date in sight. The Xbox 360 is also available for just $199.99 while the cheapest Playstation 3 available at mass market is $399.99. For an extra $100 you can get an xbox 360 that comes with a 60GB hard drive and two games(LEGO Indiana Jones and Kung Fu Panda). If you don't like the games, you can always resell them and use the money to get something you do like. Last edited by Neebus; 11-29-2008 at 02:09 AM. |

Don't worry about xbox360 lover's comments.
People that buy that consol are cheap/poor people. PS3 > X360 :s -5+ graphic cards at once s runs anything perfectly (Fallout3 pushes x360's limits but it is not even near PS3 limits -PS3 has blue ray player. You might see x360 as cheaper but actually its more expensive. PS3 is 400 + blueray player. Xbox is just 300. Blue ray player by itself is already 300 bucks so you are paying only 100 for the ps3 -online doesn't matter because the ps3 patches gave it trophies (achievements), friends, and it is practically Live. -Lag doesn't exist for consoles so don't worry about others saying that you ps3 online sucks. I see no difference. - Lastly to prove my point, I am on OnRPG replying on a ps3 -Yes. you can put keyboards mouses and even any headsets onto ps3's many usb slots. YOU CAN GO ON 60 INCH HDTV 1080P. btw all the good games are for both console so don't bring out that (360 exclusive bs) RESISTANCE 2 > GoW2/Halo3 by a long shot. Especialy Halo 3. 100% of my friends realized that they baught it just for the story, not for the gameplay /end
