Im making this thread for all the people who thinks that IGG is making something Illegal regarding the new game they host, Aurora Blade.
These people are flaming the game because they think most of the stuff is stolen, Ragnarok sprites, Sword of Mana Graphics, etc, etc. They believe that they are going to be sued, the game is gonna be cancelled, the game is going to suck because it looks similar to other games, etc. These people are wrong. The game is licensed, not made by IGG, there is a big difference and it seems that some people dont understand it (or doesnt know what it means). It is true that the game looks similar to other games, the reason for this is that the game is using graphic engines from other companies. Does that means that they stole it? No. It means that they BUYED it. The living proof to this is that Aurora Blade is the English version of a Chinese version called Miuworld. Miuworld is in the market for over one year and hasnt suffered any legal problems. If you dont want to believe me then: http://www.miuworld.com/ I already played the game. Aurora Blade is a Board based 2D MMORPG with a turn based battle system. And its actually quite hard to find one of this kind that doesnt suck. Then again its IGG, so its probably going to be nerfed for the people who spends real money in it. |

Board based... turn based... if the system is handled and prepared right, this game will rock.
I said since first notice that I was going to try it before any flame, but if what this post says is true, then I'm definitely going all for it. Only problem I have is that, from what I've seen on my past experiences, IGG never handled their games too well. Anyway, we shall see what we shall see...

I've also noticed they use some ragnarok online concept art, for monsters and such.

Nobody is discussing that they look alike, that’s obvious.
The fact that they are similar or exactly the same doesn’t necessarily mean that they are stealing it. Like I said they buy graphic engines from other companies, of course that it’s cheap (and lazy) but it’s not illegal. Look at deserten post, darkages sprites look similar to Aurora Blade, therefore similar to RO too, but they aren’t being sued for it. If you still don’t believe that there is nothing illegal going on after reading all the proof, think about Gravity and all the other companies, do you seriously think that nobody from all these companies have realized that they are stealing from them when the game has been announced for over a month? (And all the letters from the fire boys) Do you seriously think that they wouldn’t do anything to stop them? Trust me, if they would be doing anything illegal they would already sued IGG. They aren’t stupid. @ cinderboy: The game has been released for over a year, and so far there hasnt been sued. |

Yes, the game is licensed to IGG for the North American market, that means IGG is also responsible. Gravity US, Nexon US or Square-Enix US could very well sue (although I doubt they'd bother for such a pos "game"). By the way, that's a nice propaganda you got there, Bias_Eir. You registered today and all your posts are Aurora Blade related. Fanboy much? Quote:
