I just have the traditional glowing tree bought in the chinese shop across the street and some random decorations.
It's depressing not living with a large family sometimes :| |

I will probably put up a small christmas tree.
I know my Mother will call me up to go decorate her house. But really the origin of christmas came from the combination of pagan holidays celebrating winter solstice. The Romans celebrated to worship saturnalia and on that one day all men were free, even the slaves. They would wear a red hat to show this (which maybe is where we got the idea for the santa cluas hat) . The druidic people celebrated for praising plants and one of the plants they would have was the pine tree (which is the type of tree we have in christmas today). The concept of santa clause came much later and that was a combination of norse and christian mythology. |
