Greetings!
I am Chris Warris, Vermund Team Coordinator for EagleEye Information Systems, Inc. We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled web designer. Misc Requirements include: - The ability to dedicate your time to this project, and this project only. - A microphone (headset-style preferred), and the ability to use Ventrilo (www.ventrilo.com). - The ability to be on Ventrilo for team meetings at least twice per week, and the willingness to be on Ventrilo in general to discuss the project with the team at any given time. (If you haven't figured it out, Ventrilo is our main method of team collaboration and communication). - The ability to work quickly, and perform the tasks ASSIGNED, without distraction in to other things. - Must be a fluent English speaker, who is able to be EASILY understood over voice communication. Design Requirements include: - Ability to design a functional and stylish Medieval themed website. - Knowledge of CSS layouts and design. - Ability to design own graphics (Spaces, Borders, Backgrounds) - Must be able to discuss with the team to ensure the site is designed to match our expectations. - The ability to animate and incorporate flash files into the website is a plus. We are seeking people who are willing and able to really invest their time in to the success of this project. You are not joining an independent game development project run by a bunch of amateurs. What makes us different from the rest? - 10 years of overall design and development. This is not just some "hey, let's make a game and become rich" type of project! - A unique game idea that many agree will be a breakthrough in the marketplace. - Our lead designer and programmer (the team lead and the brains behind the operation) is an expert programmer, with college-level teaching experience in Object Oriented Programming. - Established team collaboration tools. - We actually have something to SHOW for all our time and effort thus far. This is NOT vaporware, and will NEVER be abandonware! - A prototype game server box already set up, with a running (though still in development) game server app. Our current team includes: Jared Mark : Lead Designer, Team Leader, Lead Client & Server Developer. Chris Warris : Team Coordinator, Assistant Designer, Supplementary Artist. Wade Logan : Art Lead, (Art Direction, Concept and UI) The team will ultimately have more people, including a web developer, music/sound designer, as well as more 3D modelers and 2D artists. We are a tight team, looking to grow slowly, and integrate new members one at a time to ensure all new people are fully up to speed and on board with our ideas and ideals prior to adding other new members. We are also only adding new people as our needs grow along side the game's development. Ultimately, the full team will be about 10 people, not to exceed 15. Please note: The game's concept, story line, and overall design, may not be fully disclosed to you. There is far too much to cover, and quite frankly, we have verbally described it all to far too many people who end up being unreliable, and ultimately end up being removed from the team. We no longer have the desire to describe 6 or more hours-worth of game design concepts to people who will prove to be unable to dedicate themselves to this project. This is not about non-disclosure, it's really more about being fed-up with flaky individuals who, even though they think the game's design is great, end up being unable to follow through on the requirements set out above. It may sound a bit odd, but we are truly in a position with this game's design to say that you have to prove yourself to us first, before we prove ourselves to you. We are seeking the best candidate, and only when we are sure we have found it, will that candidate be given the indulgence of having the entire game's design spelled out for them in detail. COMPENSATION: - We will not discuss compensation at this time. Compensation will be discussed only after we determine if we are willing to accept you to the team. In fact, if you are solely motivated by money, we don't want you as a matter of principle. This is a fundamental concept behind this game's design: we are not motivated by money! We are not seeking mercenary workers, we are seeking a person who is motivated by love for their work, and who wants a real opportunity to have that work PUBLISHED. Monetary gain should be a secondary goal for those who we will consider as ideal candidates. HOW TO APPLY TO THE TEAM: There are two options for joining the team. OPTION 1: email quip@vermund.com if you are interested. PLEASE INCLUDE: - A link to, or attached, examples of your work. - A brief description of yourself. Real name and world location are required. - One or two paragraphs of what motivates you, and why you want to be a part of this team. - Please say SPECIFICALLY what it was that made you think you qualify to be on the team, and SPECIFICALLY why you want to be a part of this project. Please note: Proper English spelling and grammar COUNTS! Poorly formatted email applications will simply deleted. If you are not willing to put effort in to properly formatting your thoughts in an application email, we consider that an indication of your unwillingness to put the proper amount of effort in to every thing we need you to be for this team. Your modeling skill alone will NOT get you this position. Your ability to communicate well is arguably of greater importance! Please present yourself in a professional manner when applying, just like you would for any "real life" job. OPTION 2: Show a little initiative and join our Ventrilo server to immediately talk with either myself (Quip), or the Jared (EagleEye). Server IP/Hostname: 69.12.30.137 Port number: 2341 Password: None (leave this blank) Join the EEISI Customer Support channel and put a comment in that says you are there to talk with Quip or EagleEye. If one of us is on the server, right click our names, go to "User" then "Send Page", and we will hear a "Page from (your name)" so we will know you want to talk with us. Thank you Chris Warris Vermund Team Coordinator http://www.vermund.com/ |
