Also, to clear up some info:

I just read the anouncement that is there when you click on the banner on the main page, and here's the gist:

They are thanking all the testers and announcing they will begin "Double Beta" on the 13th or 14th. As to what this means regarding whether or not it will be "Open beta", I'm not sure. They don't specifiy.

They next say that they are changing the client from a web-based start up to a stand-alone client (thank god). They say this was the number 1 feedback suggestion from the testers (smart people).

Then they just say that they are adding a mount system to the game.

Finally, they say on the 4th they will make an announcement as to what will happen next.

Ok, having just read that I realized they must have made the announcement. So I checked the fron page and sure enough, an announcement:

Summary:

Basically, what I gathered is, from the 13th to the 14th is a "Double Beta" test where they are testing the stability of the servers. So they want everyone to log on and see if they can take it. In english I think they call this a "stress test". Anyway, once it passes that, they say that the game will enter an "Open Beta" mode with an item shop... Not sure if this means it'll be free forever, as they don't clarify, but there's a good chance methinks.

The other thing of importance is: THE GAME CLIENT WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD ON THE 12th! So get it then and then get updated.

*Note to CB people: You need to get it too.

WHAT WE STILL DON'T KNOW:

Exactly when OB will start. They say "here on out" (more or less), but I guess that might mean after the stress test.

There's all the info I can give you right now. Hope to see you in the stress test!

Got an e-mail today saying the game is available for download, so here's the deal:

Go to the main site. Log in to your account.

Then on the left side of the screen, look for the blue button with the down arrow in it. The text in the button is: ゲーム本体こちらからダウンロード

On the download screen you'll notice there are two different options to download the game with, here's the quick run down:

Top one:

1) Bigger download
2) They recommend for people with "stable" internet connections
3) Patching will be short for this one

Bottom one:

1) Much smaller download
2) Recommended for people with "unstable" internet
3) Patching will take a longer time (how long, I am not sure) for this one.

Whichever you chose it doesn't matter. And you do NOT need both.

*EDIT*

I'm doing the top one... Getting good speeds of 300KB/s, but it is a 2.6GB file, so it is still taking about 2 1/2 hours. If anyone choose the other one, post here about how intuitive the patching is.

Don't forget: you may need to run AppLocal for this. I'll get back to you when I know.

*2ND EDIT*

Figured I'd give you guys a heads up as to what the top of the page says:

First it says that both downloads are the same. Then it reminds that this is the client for the DOUBLE BETA.

It goes on to say that they ask you to understand that AFTER THE DOUBLE BETA this client WILL NOT BE ABLE TO BE USED. I take that to mean we will have to wait a bit before the OB, and it will not start instantly after the Double Beta.

The other thing is for people using internet explorer 6. Instead of translating the whole thing, let me just say this: don't. Go get IE 7 or download Firefox (the better option).

*FINAL EDIT* (I swear)

Ok, so I went over to read the new info posted on the development blog (http://blog.daletto.com/article/lonhuyd873/latest.html) and there's a little more info there for us. Here's the scoop:

The first paragraph repeats what I said before, so I'm going to skip it.

In the second paragraph, we get some new info:

The Item Mall will be open during the Double Beta. The good news here is that we will all receive 10,000 points to go towards this mall. In fact, they are encouraging us to "buy and check something out if we want to". So, you heard them, buy away! Also, for the CB people, the prices have changed apparently. It is NOT specified whether or not these items will stick around after the double beta (nor is it implied our characters will either), but it can't hurt to buy up some cool stuff in case it is, right?

Finally he just talks about minor additions to the site (such as a movie on the main page (http://bladechronicle.jp/start) and other non-important things.

So there you go, that's all the new stuff that was added today.

Oh wait! There is one thing I forgot. Just skimmed the article again and he said there is a new page explaining how to use the mount system (I said before that this would be in the double beta). I'll post up a summary later on, I guess. If anyone is interested.

Please read my posts... I've translated essentially everything but the play guide. The answer is in there.

I found a few problems for me while installing, some reason the installer couldn't extract or load some files so I had to ignore them. Not sure if this will effect the game launcher.

Which version did you download? The big or the small one? I downloaded the big one and had no problems during installation.
