Well since finals are next week i need to start bucklin down on my chemistry work and some of this shit i dont know, so im here to ask you guys if you could help me
I need a good/easy explaination on how you got the answer please ![]() 5.Find The number of moles in each of the number of represenentative particles. b. 3.87 x 10^21 molecules of ALF3 6.How many representative particles are in each of the following mole quanities? b. 4.20 x10-3(Think thats 10^3 not sure what that is) mol K2S 7. Convert the following two-step quantities, converting first to the mole and then to the desired quantity A. Find the number of molecules in 60.0 g of N20 How many representative particles, remember that means molecules for compounds or atoms for elements, are there in 0.50 moles of H20? What is the mass in grams of 3.0 x 10^3 mles of N2? **And last one i get, but i dont get it** What is the metallic ion in the compound NaCL? (Neither one is metallic?!?!) |

5. ( 3.87 x 10^21 ) / (6.02 x 10^23)
6. ( 4.20 x 10^3 ) x (6.02 x 10^23) 7. 60 g N2O X ( 1 mol N2O / (2( Molar mass of N ) + ( Molar mass of O ) )) Ans x ( 6.02 x 10^23 ) To find particles from a mass you first find moles by dividing the mass you have by the sum of molar masses in the compound. So O2 would be 16 + 16, or 32. Then you multiply by the number of particles in one mole, 6.02 x 10^23. Na is a metal, so sure, go with that. Last edited by MrWafflez; 12-11-2008 at 01:03 AM. |

Yes, a calculator might mess up without the parentheses because you have two terms, but it should work with or without.
All those problems only deal with one concept, which is what a mole is. 6.02 x 10^23. Simple as that. |

No, but it's a requirement at my school. I'd rather not take the class because I have the memory and attention span of a baby cockroach. The other choice would be Biology, though, and that's worse than just learning a few concepts. :x
