I think I tried this game a long time ago.. I don't remember all that much besides for lagging, while my system is indeed crappy I've actually rarely lagged as bad as I did there.

I wouldn't call the game terrible. It isn't super awesome by any stretch, but it isn't terrible. It has some good qualities.
However, a major negative is the engine it uses. If you've ever played Minions of Mirth, it uses the same engine. And while it looks OK, it runs horrible and has some pretty bad memory issues sometimes.
