Yes, you should get the first one. I heard the actual Guild Wars 2 is coming out, you could wait for that if you have the patience. Link is here for more information.
Good luck! |

It seems that ArenaNet has decided on 2009 a few months back it was estimated 2009-2010 but they later changed it to 2009.

@ the OP. Its worth getting any single GW game (except Eye of the North, becuse you NEED one other the other 3 to play that), they all offer a PVE story and PVP. Then you can get the others later on and add them to the same account, it's what I did. Last edited by Seiyuuki; 01-14-2009 at 12:42 PM. |

For storyline, prophecies is probably the best. Its probably the longest, and has the most replay value (25 missions as opposed ot the 20 in NF and 13 in factions). Also, the prophecies story leads into eye of the north and nightfall. Thats not to say nightfall can't be played seperate, but heros really ruined the game, and the story and gameplay is pretty mediocre until torment. (This is comming from a guy whose completed all three in hard mode)
If you have any plans to PVP, Prophecies is probably the last one on your list. Nightfall has the most powerful skills, and factions has many of the most useful ones. Eye of the north has absolutely required skills for almost every profession, though a very limited number total. (I know one guy who has all campaigns but not eotn, and in gvg, the only position he can play is hammer warrior because of that.) |
