Default About the Onrpg Awards

Hey guys,

We recently read some of your feedback about the fairness of the Onrpg Member's Choice Awards. We are aware that our contest game partners for the contest encouraged players to vote for their games.

While we encourage our partners and the community to promote the Member's Choice Awards and help us grow our community further, we want to assure you that our intention is to host an un-biased contest where games are recognized and awarded based on the direct feedback of our community.

We won't be penalizing anyone for voting because it doesn't break any current rules in the contest and in the meantime, we ask that you please welcome all the new members that have joined our community. This being said, for next year's Member's Choice Awards, we will change the rules to account for situations like this and therefore we encourage you to send us any other feedback you have about the awards along with your ideas on how to promote the contest next year. Please contact us through the "Contact Us" button with your ideas, we're really looking forward to reading them!

Thanks guys!

I really dont see why you feel you have to wait till next year to do anything about it. You could quite easily reset the polls, and put in a post count limit right now. We could re-vote.

I'm sorry, but doing nothing just doesn't sound like you tried.

Next year, if I'm still here, I wont be voting at all, I'll just let all the game companies fight it out with their ad schemes.

Common sense fails, aeria games wins, onrpg looks like aeria games lackies once results are out. Yay...

They're not new members since most of the users still have 0 posts... What a great addition to the community.

I say screw it. It was Onrpg's Choice Awards, but apparently, it is Aeria Games' Choice Awards.

I'm going to ignore all the polls (except for random General board posts) from now until a post limiter is added.

Even if Aeria got 300 people to vote for one game, we have more than 300 people right? Onrpg's community can outvote them, if more people would vote.

A posting cap is an excellent idea, but should be implemented as a rule at the start. For now, I really hope the rest of Onrpg's community feels like voting too, for whatever game they like!

I wonder how the community is going to take this, and by community I mean people who have been here long before the Aeria incident. This is just another tasteless tactic by a f2p company to try and ensure a revenue flow at the cost of just about every forum and gaming site around. They'll continue to do crap like this until they are told just outright to knock it off and grow up. On that note it really feels like Onrpg has dropped the ball on dealing with this issue and is just handling it very sloppily.

Firstly, there aren't many OnRPG veterans. I know, OnRPG has lots of members, etc. but only few actually post here regularly and even less participate in the events.

Secondly, note that OnRPG would at least need 300+ people voting for ONE GAME to "outvote" them. That's ridiculous. In a poll with 17(?) options, it's literally IMPOSSIBLE for OnRPG's community to get 300 votes on a SINGLE game. It's not like everyone would play the same game.

Another reason why only few people on OnRPG vote is because no one(community members) really bothers visiting the homepage for various reasons. I'm aware that most traffic's on the homepage and not the forums!

But that's not it, yet. In all respect, the choices for the polls were utter ***.
Why are games(that were released a very long time ago) nominees for the award of "best game of 2008"?

PS: I agree with Saaad. That's really...oh, you know.

PSS:

Please don't take this as an insult/in an offensive way. It's just my opinion on this. I know that OnRPG staff is working hard and I love you for all you've done up until now but you also need some major improvements...fast. I'm sure you're aware of that, though.
Wish you best luck with all your projects and may the force be with you, lol.

yeah i think the poll should be reseted and a post limit should be set to prevent 0 post accounts to vote at the polls and if u let aeria win now that would be really bad in my eyes and in the eyes of them would that be a win and dont et them win ...... reset the poll make something staff

Well TBH some of the poll options were stupid with WAR not being in the gameplay for 2008 although its PvP matches are fun and it was actually released in the year 2008.
Also why can't you just redo the polls remove all the aeria games options and actually think what your putting up there.
For example the most innovative game 2008 one you could of taken a leaf out of MMORPG's book and said WAR-For its Public Quests, Atlantica-Turn Based Combat ect.
Or just chose between your selves! Like what Invisble Walls said when you give us the choice Madden becomes GOTY.

You did nothing. You didn't even try.

Nobody wants this. Well done. Thank you for nothing.

Though I respect the onrpg staff I have to say I agree with everyone else. This is unfair to all of us, I won't be voting for the polls anymore and I'll just ignore them until aeria gets what they deserve. I truely hope you guys actually listen to the community and do something about this soon.
