Orc's Breathmint

Graphics (9/10):
A bright colored environment which is very inviting, filled with animations. I haven't progressed very far in the game, but what I've seen in the environement previews on the English site, it includes many things, such as deep caves, mountains, temples, plains and forests. Its still in development so I'm sure we'll see more diffirent environments. In the 'Timestone Missions' you get the sense of being lost in Oblivion, with swirling colors, glowing portals and giant structures. The sprites themselves are detailed and well created, including a variety of animations, including one little dorky 'dance', which is used when opening treasure chests, learning skills and pulling switches, for some strange reason. I dunno, the girl's 'dance' seems better than the males, sorta irritates me whenever its displayed. Sound (7/10): Again, I haven't travelled very far in the game yet (Level 16/16), but the soundtrack is okay so far, nothing more. I've experienced three toons, all rather catchy, one being while in the fields or town, one being in a Timestone Mission, and the other when you're in a Warning room inside a Timestone Mission. I've heard some other tracks from the trailer, and those seem pretty good, but the music is just average. One thing thats annoying is a period of silence when the music finishes, that lasts for a good 15 seconds before it starts up again. Gameplay (8/10): Gameplay is slightly diffirent than most games, and theres some extras which add on to the gameplay. When you first start playing, you might notice that your normal attacks are in the form of skills, which seems quite strange at the beginning, but you get the hang of it. You can also attack with your Right-Handed weapon just by clicking the space bar instead of a shortcut key if you prefer that. One of the most annoying things in this game is the time between attacks, which seemingly never changes (although the Archer's Haste skill might affect it), although if you are good at pulling off combos with your skills right after eachother, this doesn't really affect you much, like me. In my opinion, the game starts getting a whole lot better when you start getting more of a selection of pets. Pets come in a selection of diffirent elements and attack styles, therefore adding more strategy depending on where you're heading, and in PVP. Also, when you start recruiting Nosmates, you can buy them individual weapons and armor, gloves and boots to give them player-like charateristics. With your pets and your Nosmates, you also can also choose from diffirent AIs for them, make them move on their own or move with you and a whole bunch more. Fairies (which I can't seem to figure out how to get, I've heard it involves a quest, and I can't really read Korean) enchant your character with diffirent elements. Although, you must keep your Fairy at good health in order for it to give good effects. It has many stages, including an egg in which in hatches from. Now for my favorite part: Timestone Missions, Collecting Pieces of Reality, and the Hero Mission. These have been a unique experience from other MMOs for me, not only offering some fun, but offering good experience and money for my character. During Timestone missions, at least at the beginning, you are offered two modes: Easy and Normal. Easy is, and expected, easier, but offers less rewards (No Bonus EXP from this one), and Normal is harder, but offers more rewards including EXP bonuses. Your goal in Timestone Missions are to defeat all the enemies within the time limit, and reach the last portal. If you get over 80%, you get all your rewards: Bonuses, extra item (if the current mission mode has one), money, and your 'Completed' stamp. If you get 50% to 79%, you still pass, but miss out on that extra item, and get less money and bonuses. If you get below 50% or just don't make it in time, you get nothing. If you complete both Easy and Normal with over 80%, you get the 'Special' or Hard mode. These usually offer a nice reward, including rare items, extra EXP bonuses, and lots of money if you complete them. If you complete any mode of a Timestone Mission, with over 80% you get a Timestone, and when you gather a certain amount of Timestones, you get a piece of reality. After collecting all the pieces of reality for the Act you're in, you get a picture, which tells you about a 'Hero Mission' which you must undertake to complete the Act (if you didn't know, an Act is part of the story of Nostale) you are currently in. I don't have all the details, but I do know that at the end of a Hero Mission there is a strong boss. The EXP grind isn't that bad, if it seems to be going slow, just do Timestone missions for EXP, as well as money if you're running low on stuff. Although things may seem expensive at the beginning, when you start readily doing Timestone Missions, money will be readily available. Overall (8/10): Definately worth checking out, and depending on your preference, this might be a good game to stick with for a loooong time. I know theres lots of people looking forward to this MMORPG, so I hope this review has come of use to you. I will be downloading and playing kTrickster soon, and after a while of playing that I'll bring a review of that as well! Remember, this is my opinion, and your personal playing preferences are what will really matter when you play this game, I know I still have a lot to explore, but this game has still impressed me with the little parts I've been through.
