Default Revenge of Mozilla! Firefox gaining on IE

Ok, this article was fun to write.

Firefox vs. Internet Explorer - User Base and Market Share Shifting to Mozilla

It was really amazing to research the stats and find out how "complete" IE's victory seemed just a few short years ago.

I don't know if Firefox has what it takes to overtake the huge advantage of IE being pre-installed. Maybe Firefox will just clear the way for Chrome.

What do you think?

Not trying to defend IE, because I think it's full of fail.

well i think IE has been going downhill ever since Firefox came into the market. IE had multiple problems besides this in the past...but since Microsoft dominated the web browser market, people did not have a much of a choice.

If Microsoft were to really bounce back, they would need a major overhaul of their program. Fix flaws, glitches, holes, etc, etc. Heck, make it open source like Firefox if it has to. It copied Mozilla's window-tabbing already...

It kinda amazes me how poor a job IE has done catching up.

IE caught up and passed Netscape in a matter of months it seemed.

But they don't seem to be making ANY progress at catching up to Firefox.

Are they just incapable?

Why fix something that 70% of the market doesn't acknowledge as being broken?

Hopefully, we can spread the word, and eventually get Firefox to have a majority of usage.

Or better yet, get FF pre-installed on comps, though it's unlikely.

Because you miss having 95% of the market?

Because 70% and falling is kinda dangerous, and you have personal experience of being on the other side of that scale - when IE passed and crushed Netscape?

IE started going downhill when they thought they can charge for tabbed browsing....anyone remember that........all IE does now is borrow stuff from the better browser to try to remain good but theyre always one step behind
