and the ones that do probably already buy copious amounts of it with the same ease as buying an ounce of mj anyway. so i'm gonna have to disagree with you there, i don't think it will make one bit of difference when it comes to the amount of people taking harder drugs. |

At the end of the day, it's not the worst thing in the world to smoke weed, but you have to understand that making it leagal would have gigantic effects.
It's just not ok to go around pretending it good old family fun. I agree that people should be allowed to choose what they do with their lives, and if they want to take drugs that seriously affect your brain (this includes alchohol) then they should generally be allowed to. But if you make something like this leagal, then you will have millions of young people who don't know better trying it. It is addictive. Fact. Even with an age limit like alchohol, younger people will try it and get hooked. It does have a strong effect on the body and brain. Fact. Granted it will affect some people differently to others. We already have alchohol on the market, and it kills more people per year than smoking does. That's not aclhohol related deaths like drink driving, that's purely from the damage that alchohol does to your insides. You can argue that smoking weed does less damage, but even when taken without tobbacco, it's still harmfull. We don't need more shit like this out there being thrust in the faces of stupid, ignorant teenagers who just want a kick. At least when it's illeagal we can still choose to smoke if we wish, but we are under no pretences that it's ok and good for you. |
