That's not quite how the economy works. As gas prices get $10 a gallon, the oil companies spend more money. As whoever they give their money to, those guys will spend more money and so on. Eventually people will start asking for raises because the cost of living is higher. Bosses will be able to give it to them. Goverment puts in some money into pockets of consumers. Soon, Gas is $30 a gallon and we can all afford it.
It's just tight on people because the oil companies aren't spending their money, mainly because they seem to be too busy fighting a war.
