As said, use an alternative fuel source, but only if we have already made the move to that fuel source years before this point so that when the switch does happen there are not massive outages.

But I find it funny how so many are complaining about the price of gas... It's really not expensive (though supplies are diminishing). The problem is that the US manufactures are not making fuel efficient cars which eat up a ton of gas.
We in the US has reached about the average price of gas as seen around the world. Before we simply had gas super cheap. Now it's at a more normal price.
