My strategy is to have two attackers; one with sword and shield and the other with a high damage weapon like an axe or some such. And have a ranged attacker who uses cure magicks and such.
I cure less initially, but since I have two attackers both wearing heavier armor with less magic resistance, it evens out in the end.
But that's what I do, not saying it works all the time.
