One of the bigger problems with a MMOs from the last 4-5 years is the way they deal with support/healing/etc. The developers seem to think people don't like these tasks very much, so they are scared to make pure support/healer classes any more.

The problem is, some people actually LIKE being pure support.

So instead, they create these weird DPS/healer hybrids that are virtually impossible to balance. And in the end, people who LIKE support are frustrated as heck.

Should MMO developers heed this, and create pure support classes again, in addition to hybrid support classes?

I'm pretty sure nobody likes being treated like trash, forced to do whatever people tell you to do, the moment they tell you to do it.

because that's how healers/supporters are treated by the community, like complete and useless trash. Yet the same "trash" is the key to survive anything in MMOs, funny huh?

Support classes are completely useless anyway because most MMOs have potions that are cheap and have a low cool down time.

Not to BRs, remember the "BUFF PLOX" ...
Some games have lots of support classes with different buffs. Those are needed ... alot.

I myself like playing a Bard class where I just sit back and buff people. Easy exp for me and easier killing for them. Being a heal ***** on the other hand is a pain. People always blame you for their mistakes.

Meh. I don't see why anyone would want to take up that mantle. I made an AoE assist on Flyff and god it was annoying.


And while we're on the subject of buffs, why do warriors/mages get their own buffs? Can't you just beef their stats up instead of making them use an arbitrary skill ever 5 minutes?

because that +5 str is obviously the difference between a successful raid, or a failure raid and a /gkick

Well, when i played lineage2, without buffs, you are pretty much gimped. Same for perfectworld/WoW ... Games where you cant add stats. Not to mention, pots suck in those games.

I like playing cleric classes, although the stress is incredibly annoying because you have people yelling at you because they're bad. I end up grinding most of the time because all I need to do is throw on a HoT and wack away.
