Uhm. believe it or not i dont think theres anything you can do.

and i gotta agree with you, its just aweful.
last chaos has a problem with dratan because its so big.. if you'll look the map is about twice as big as juno and merac.
it just takes up too much too memory and i dont think any standard pc could handle it all of the time. :/
it does work some of the time though.
try closing everything else you have up while teleporting and then re-opening once youre in.. or you could just get memorization scrolls to the entrance of the temple(s) and keep trying :o
