I've just bought FFXI (YAYZORZ!!!!!) from amazon and it'll be at my house within the next week. I've heard FFXI is good for the whole team experience thing, and I decided that it would be really fun to play with some other people. I know I'm just a n00b but I really need someone to show me the ropes and help me out... anyone wanna help me?

I know I have to pay a monthly fee, but I'm getting a cut in my allowance to pay for it which I don't really mind ^^

hopefully you enjoy it....and make sure you get some of the ffxi vets off this site to help you..ffxi is nothing like any other mmo lol....honestly i hated it....but in my own little way i wish id like it, i bought the game about 3 times (since i kept forgetting accounts or threw out the other cd lol) trying to get myself to liek it again but just couldn't....but it'll take some getting used to just so ya know

my parents didn't tell me they ordered it into gamestop!!!
AND IT'S GONNA BE THERE TOMORROW FOR ME TO PICK UP!!!
I get to play tomorrow! *shoots self in head* THIS CANNOT BE HAPPENING!!!!!!
I know it's not like any other mmo, that's why I want to try it! I hate the boring old style mmos... that and I have much evidence that the dot hack series was based on FFXI...

patch alone probably will take you another day.
dont get your hopes up.

before you start this game.. expect the worst. it is not easy or players may not be too friendly.

make sure to join /w high populated server or servers that your friend plays.

and expect slow... very slow progress of game.
expect party everything you do in game. (which isnt too hard if you join populated server or a friend who can help you powerlevel or what not)

but i assure you, once you get hang of it.. its 1 best mmorpg.

ugh its grindy? well as long as the graphics are good and the combat is interesting and stuff I'll deal with it... I played runescape AKA the grindiest MMO I've ever heard of for like a year and this actually has INTERESTING skills and stuff!!!!

and I don't mind playing with other people... actually I prefer playing with a group of friends, it gets you through the grinding easier

The quest/missions are really interesting, they don't give much exp/gil, but it's just so amazing...Really good.
