ok
when a person comes to onrpg they have a coded implant of a period of 200 thread posts where when they make threads it has a pop up which states "have you used our search yet? inside this window/popup, is a "Site search engine box" ! This will in time encourage the newcomer as he/she grows to use the search engine in order to find out if a "thread" or a simular natured thread has been posted , therefore he/she will use the original thread they found in the search engine! Instead of making multil X multi ones! Therefore with this window/popup, announcement the 30-60% understand that using the search engine is a good idea! before making new threads, thus in turn stop the annoyance of flaming to a minimal! This is by no way intended to apply to 200 threads! it could be knocked down to 50 Its a idea! ? ?? ? ? ? that's all! Isn't this the right area to apply this sort of thing? Quote:

We all hate popups, that is why popup blockers are so popular this days, you can send us throught a "trainee camp" tutorial to not repeat same posts over and over, or simply a BIG RED WARNING that will keep there untill we get to X amount of posts. Also if an admin finds out someone is not searching he would add 10 more posts to this new user.
But no need to get 50-200 alerts saying "Go and search, go and search!!" |

The idea itself is great but it should be done on another way.
On the page of the new thread option, there should stand in big red letters "Check if this has not been posted yet." or something similar. This might help a bit, but there always will be duplicate threads. There is nothing you can do to stop it.
