In all honesty, it's lovely!

However, since you asked for criticism, I will point at some things that I personally think could be better.

1. The background itself is simple and matches, but it might be a little too simple.

2. It seems like you took the character you put on the banner and used some effects to make it a shadow on both sides. I think the shadow would do better on just one side - the right side I would say. That would make the image look a little hollow with nothing on the left, so you would need some sort of background filler to take its place.

3. Did you try using your effects to make the shadows go 45 degrees downwards instead of upwards? If you were using it for the purpose of shadows, then shadows usually go down, not up, if you know what I mean. Unless of course you're assigning your light source to be at the center of the bottom of the image.

That's about all the nit picking I could do. I don't know if my comments are any good either because I don't know what kind of theme you are going after stylisticly.

thanks alot. quite frankly i dont know about theme :S i just try and make it look neat lol.the only time i try for theme is when i have a set background instead of one i made from scratch. thanks everyone else. Btw i got photoshop finally instead of print shop so thats why i threw this together. couldnt sleep without trying the legendary photoshop,

Would you like me to take a stab at making a banner with this character, Xenoth?

I will keep the jade green look of the character, and I believe that is a 450x150 image size, so I will maintain that too.

At your confirmation, I will go ahead and give it a shot (need to practice making good sigs myself).

In the mean time, you obviously can give a crack at doing some fudging around with your own!

And on that note, I'd like to make another comment. I can't tell what you did with your text. It looks like some glow and a little bit of noise on the inside. Like the background, it is simple and effective, but may be not as effective as it could be with a different effect. Do some experimentation to see what you like best if you have not already. The final decision is always yours!
